A fallen angel.  Punished for trying to raise animals to sapience.

Was subsequently given the same sentence as he had given his creatures: to be human.

Has astonishingly terrible luck. Is ganged up on by a flock of ravenous vampires soon after landing. He suffers some physical disfigurement and his mind, rather appropriately, is in shambles. 

Has a cold, aloof, though polite demeanor. Very grim, prone to self-pity that can spiral out all the way to a meltdown if left unchecked.  Terrible focus, a faulty memory. Often suffering from auditory hallucinations, which sometimes to him feel as if he's tapping into some unknown hivemind, The voices are rarely aimed at him, after all.

All in all, a broken man. And his creatures are not at all eager to thank him for his selfless deed. Helped, in a way, by one of them though, Deidrah.
