Child of Mist (Misty)

Magic abilities. Misty gained all her magic abilities after her death together with second chance and immortality. She is a polymorphic spirit with three forms (feral, anthro and human), who is able to use air magic weakly and create small things like books, food, accessories, clothes and various everyday stuff. Child of Mist can also become visible for usual people for a short period, during which she can’t use any magic and her wings disappear. Everyone who saw or talked to her forgets about her existence when she returns back to spirit form. Wings are also her magical part and allow her to fly for quite long distances. Misty doesn’t have physical need in water or nutrition, that’s why she eats only what she wants. She feels exhausted only from using magical powers (getting physical body is the most tiring one) and sleeps only to recover magic powers. Misty can’t get sick or injured but she feels pain and most of other feelings.

Personality. Child of Misty is truly a child inside. Romantic and dreamy Misty is surprisingly naive, no matter of centuries of watching people, and she gets easily embarrassed from little comment or gesture. She is pretty shy around people and never appears in vulgar dress or does something inappropriate in public, though her awkwardness makes problems for her and fun for people (if they see her). But when Misty stays alone she can become foolish and playful. Curiosity is also a big part of her nature which makes her watch people and peep at them.

Naturally Misty is kind and responsive and her outer insouciance can make a wrong impression that she is never depressed concentrate of cheer. But in fact her inner world isn’t so bright. Tender and vulnerable Misty sometimes falls into melancholy or just gets upset from things likes dead nestling or hungry poor children. But the reasons for deeper sadness are her loneliness and absence of destiny and existence aim. Because of her peculiarity she can’t stay in touch with most of people around her which means she doesn’t have any friends.

Child of Mist is strongly connected with nature, that’s why her love for forests, sea and wind (and air in general) isn’t surprising. And her wandering life style and inquisitiveness made her love travelling and learning about the world. But still Misty tries not to stay for a long in cities, especially big ones; she also avoids crowds and conflicts. War makes her feel terrible and sight of blood can cause faint.

Some peculiarities. Misty doesn’t remember about her death and past before it, she doesn’t even know that she is dead. Generally she isn’t visible for anyone, except for some magical creatures. Wings can disappear even in spirit form if it is more convenient without them. Misty can’t change her appearance including gaining or losing weight, growing, getting older, changing hair colour or length. It requires magic she doesn’t know.

Biography. All Misty’s life can be divided into two parts; first sixteen years, when she was a usual alive creature, and new life after death. As many inhabitants of her lost in Alps village, the girl, being just a little kitten, was enslaved and the rest of her life stayed as servant. Her master wasn’t kind or caring and from endless work and abuse Misty became absolutely effete and was no more able to work properly at the age of sixteen. It was decided to poison her with fish and leave in the forest to be eaten by wild animals.

In the misty morning forest spirits found the body of very young girl who seemed to never have a chance for happiness during her short life. It was easy for them to find her story in the memories. They gave her a second chance, a chance for a new though not very normal life, but left no memories about her past. Misty thinks she was born on that day.

Since that day and until meeting Hensel Hoffmann her life was an endless wandering around the world and attempts to learn and develop her magic skills. Child of Mist never stayed in one place for a long time and in fact never had home. Magic wasn’t always easy for Misty. Her pinkish hair colour is the result of failed attempt to create something. After that fail she was asleep for some days to recover magic powers.

She got acquainted with the demon in pretty unexpected and fun way, when she came to London to watch people and suddenly fell almost onto Hoffmann’s head. And no matter of big industrial city being unpleasant to her, Misty stayed to live with Hensel and soon their relationship grew into romantic one.
