BASIC STORY & INFO:
-Avalon is one of the twin sons of King Amadeus and Queen Oracle, the current rulers of the Kingdom of Endragarde, a domed city which was established in ancient times. Avalon lived his whole life in Excalibur Palace, the central building in Endragarde, dedicated to the god of judgment Eidolon. Avalon lived there along with his twin brother Artorius, and their older brother Anima. They were raised under the teachings of the palace's personal instructors, so they never went into the city outside of the palace walls. While Avalon got along with his oldest brother Anima, he didn't get along much with Artorius, who often fought for attention over Avalon by pranking and messing with him on a daily basis, becoming known as the troublemaker of the family. This made Avalon become closer with Anima, as he would always intervene to get Artorius to stop bullying Avalon.

-But one day, Avalon woke up to Anima being nowhere in the palace. When he went to his parents to ask about Anima, they told him that Anima had become obsessed with "the silly fairy tale of Antiquity Keys" and left the city. Avalon had no clue why he would do that, and his parents wouldn't explain to him why. Regrettably, Avalon tried not to think about it too much, but he missed Anima deep down.

-On King Amadeus's 50th birthday (when Avalon was 18), it was time for the power of Excalibur to be passed down from Amadeus to one of his sons. Originally it would've been transferred to the firstborn, Anima, but his circumstances disqualified him. So, Avalon and Artorius competed in a series of events that proved their skills and knowledge, with the last event being a duel between them. Avalon ended up prevailing over his brother, and he was officially infused with the power of Excalibur. He was then known by the residents of Endragarde as "Master Avalon''. Artorius did not take losing the power of Excalibur well; he wanted that power more than anything, and couldn't accept that his twin brother got it instead of him. He believed he deserved it more than Avalon, and secretly made it his goal to somehow take it from him.

-As his first task with the power of Excalibur, Avalon must travel outside the city of Endragarde and observe the world of Omnigaia, just as his ancestor Arthur Librus first did in ancient times. Only after learning enough will he be able to return to the city to protect it from threats and eventually become the next king. Avalon also secretly wants to find out what happened to Anima, and find where he went. Because of his brother Anima's disappearance, Avalon despises the Antiquity Keys and wants nothing more than to get rid of them, due to how they apparently corrupted Anima.

NAME ORIGINS:
-"Avalon" comes from the place where King Arthur's sword Excalibur was forged, as well as where he recovered after the Battle of Camlann. Avalon's family's ancestral power is also called the "power of Excalibur".
-"Librus" comes from the Omnigaian god of judgment Eidolon, who represents Libra in the group of gods that represent constellations. Avalon's home in the Kingdom of Endragarde is dedicated to Eidolon.

RANDOM FACTS:
-Avalon is a hybrid of a fox and a demi-bat (a subspecies of bat whose wings are not fully developed). This hybrid species exists only in the Librus family, defined by longer tails and droopier ears than common foxes, sharp incisors, a bat nose, ribbed ear insides, and bat wings sprouting from the wrists. Most notably, a uniquely-shaped marking they are born with is present somewhere on their body; for Avalon, it is the crescent-shaped scar on the bridge of his nose.
-The markings in his hair are called the "Crown of Excalibur", which Avalon got when he was granted with the power of Excalibur at age 17. He can make these markings appear and disappear at will, mostly showing when he is angered or fighting in battle.
-His biggest rival is his twin brother Artorius, who constantly tries to take the power of Excalibur from him, because he believes he deserves it more than Avalon does.
-The glove he wears has been passed down in his family for generations, and helps channel the power of Excalibur when forming objects.
-Before he became heir to the power of Excalibur, his parents gave him more freedom to dress the way he wanted since he wasn’t originally going to succeed his father. However, after his brother Anima was disqualified, Avalon’s father wanted him to go back to dressing like a prince, which Avalon refused.
-While he wears pants in his main outfit, he actually prefers shorts because they're more comfortable.
-He wears a lot of belts because he loves how they look and the compressed feeling they give. He also wears bandages around his lower arms and lower legs (and sometimes his stomach) for this reason, plus for added "padding" (he usually takes the bandages off when he's not on a mission).
-He always wears a belt around his tail even if he's wearing nothing else; these belts vary in color, usually to match his outfit.
-He constantly thinks about putting more belts on but he doesn't want his outfit to be "too complicated".
-Under his hoodie, he wears a small key necklace that his parents gave him when he was young, and is commonly seen fidgeting with it, especially when he's thinking or nervous. He also wears a thin v-neck crop top that ranges in colors and sometimes has designs or song lyrics.
-He's a big music fan and loves to sing out loud when he's alone.
-He loves spoonerisms and combining words to make puns, which he does constantly.
-His favorite foods include mozzarella sticks, steak, tacos, tiramisu, blueberry muffins, almost any kind of cake (but not ice cream cake), and croissants.
-Here's what some cakes based on him would look like: https://twitter.com/Mithrarin/status/1035574774347509762

INSPIRATION & REFERENCES:

-Bats are my favorite animal, and he is a fox hybrid as tribute to the first "furry" character I was ever obsessed with: Miles "Tails" Prower from the Sonic the Hedgehog series.
-Slit hair markings on the top of his head resemble 0's face without the eye from Kirby's Dreamland 3 and 02's wings from Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards (0/02 are my favorite Kirby bosses).
-Scar above nose is similar to a scar I have on the bridge of my nose irl.
-Leaf symbol on hoodie's chest is a recolored version of the Super Leaf item from Super Mario Bros. 3 (SMB3 was my first game ever). It also resembles a mint leaf, as his color scheme was partially inspired by my love of mint-flavored things.
-Pink ribbon tied around upper right arm is the same as the one all the party characters wear in Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children; it is in the same spot as where Yuffie wears hers (Yuffie is my favorite FFVII character).
-Key symbol on glove is a recolor of the Secret Key item from Super Mario World (this item is what began my key obsession).
-Three stripes on the left side of his hoodie resemble Death the Kid's three stripes in his hair from Soul Eater (Kid is my favorite character in Soul Eater, my favorite anime).
-His main weapon being a scythe is a reference to Maka Albarn’s weapon from Soul Eater, which began my obsession with scythes.
-His downward zigzag arrow tummy tattoo is an international safety symbol for high voltage, which I use as my signature symbol irl, mostly for signing artwork and such.
-Neo tattoo is a reference to the Neo era of Pokemon (specifically the trading card game), which is my favorite generation of Pokemon (Gen II).
-Crystal tattoo on right wrist is based on the Original Crystal from Final Fantasy IX, and is also seen in the game's logo (FFIX is my favorite Final Fantasy game).
-Every tattoo that he has is a tattoo that I eventually want to get irl (aside from his ear tattoo lol).
-Yellow pants belt resembles the King of Sorrow's scarf in Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil (KoS is my favorite character and K2LV is my favorite game ever).
-Key necklace is a reference to a few different key necklaces I like to wear irl.
-His whole arrow theme is a reference to my obsession with arrows.
-The way that he wears his hoodie with the right sleeve rolled up and the left sleeve down is how I mostly wear hoodies irl.
-His first and last names both contain the same amount of letters as my real first and last names.
-His god form being named Eidolon is a reference to the name for summons in Final Fantasy IV, IX (my favorite in the series), and XIII. The word itself means “a spirit-image of a living or dead person” or “a shade/phantom look-alike of the human form” in ancient Greek literature, referring to how god forms take on part of the appearance of the gods themselves, who are basically spirits that resemble earthlings.
-Eidolon's ultimate attack, Unwavering Blade, is the name of the attack on the M-Gallade-EX Pokemon card from the Roaring Skies set.
