The past 2 years I have been struggling to accept that you're gone, and in doing so I have ended up pushing you away and never thinking of you to avoid dealing with the horrible thoughts of blaming myself and believing that I could have done something to save you, that I should've done more while you were still here.

But I need remember the good times I had with you instead of being traumatized by the last moments because you deserve the best, and I love you. 💕🐾

You were my companion through a childhood where I had no human friends to call my own.

You were the warm bundle of fur at the foot of my bed every night without fail.

You followed me everywhere I went so you wouldn't be alone.

You would turn your head to give us a thank you look every time we fed you something special.

You even gave me hi-5's.

You may have been our little black dog, but you were the brightest light I had in my life for 12 amazing years and I will always and forever love you. Thank you.
