John Kinsley is one of the five major protagonists of the Dragonslayer Saga, born to a family of farmers in Southton. He is an easygoing, hardworking young man with a heart of gold, even if he is a bit naive.
Despite his humble upbringing, John has always longed for more than the simplicity of farm life. Upon meeting Diedra Nightbloom, he sets out with her to deliver a message to the Queen of Reyna and they join the Meridian Army in their struggle against the Shadowborn invaders from the north.
