Wisteria

A sweet and thoughtful young merman who likes to spend his time collecting little treasures and weaving flowers into everything.  Loves making flower crowns for his friends.  He lives with and cares for his overprotective grandmother who doesn't like when he goes off to dangerous places.

His grandmother makes him help with her sewing and knitting, which he doesn't like doing.  They both like cooking and making floral arrangements together though.

Wisteria had always been intrigued by humans and other races that lived on land.  He wanted to learn more about them and took frequent trips to the shore to watch them from afar.  One time he was exploring around too closely and got caught in a fishing net.  He struggled to get untangled from it all and decided to decorate the remaining bits on him instead before returning home so that his grandmother wouldn't worry.  She panicked and told him never to return to the dangerous shore because he could be killed, and he reluctantly agreed.  Later, she gave him an errand of delivering some desserts to one of her friends.  It was meant to be a several day journey, so he packed several things before leaving.  On the trip there, a sparkling ornate pendant caught his attention.  It was clearly from someone above the sea, and he decided to take the opportunity to venture out and try to contact a human to return it.
