Dr Conrad is the lead scientist of a post-apocalyptic world that had fought years with magic users and the carrier of the black blood until said carrier and his underlings were caught and secured inside his facility. He took on a disguise as "Conny" and observed the black blood users first hand.

His birth is riddled with secrets. While his mother knew she could not make it with the child she travelled to the holy magic spring that was back then still open to public and immersed herself inside the magical water after she prayed to the gods to save the life of her child. While the high amount of magic inside the spring is deadly to mortals usually(and his mother dieing after giving birth) Dr Conrad was fine, the Archmage later claiming that he must be the mortal reincarnation of their god of magic.

The spring was closed off from public after this and forgotten, while Dr Conrad was raised by the Archmage to lead their facility.
