Design Notes:

• Built like a very young snowshoe hare
• Based on black bread mold, with strands of mold sprouting from their lower back and snout (like whiskers)
  • Transparent white "stalks" (50% opacity)
  • Round, black spores (not transparent) at the tips
• Ears and legs fade to transparent at the tips
• Opaque black claws

Character Notes:

• Eats weird 3-week-old leftovers from the back of the fridge and somehow doesn't get sick???
• His absolute favorite food, though, is sugar sandwiches. Which are... exactly what they sound like: sandwiches containing only sugar (usually powdered sugar, but any sugar will do).
• He's an extrovert and desperately wants to fit in with his peers, but he's extraordinarily socially awkward and struggles to fit in even with fellow awkward nerd babies.
• The kids he most wants to fit in with are really into pranks, so Micah tries to play pranks, too! Unfortunately, he's really, really bad at pranks. His pranks are generally either confusing duds (like putting a slice of bread in someone's desk and then laughing uncontrollably when they find it) or more upsetting than funny (like swapping out their lunch for moldy leftovers).
• He doesn't dislike the outdoors, but he spends far more time indoors than out.
• He plays with his chemistry set almost daily! Thankfully he's pretty good at chemistry and has siblings and a foster mom to keep an eye on him, so he has yet to burn the house down.
• He loves to watch scary movies, but sometimes he doesn't know his own limits and gets nightmares because he watches something TOO spoopy.
• Sometimes he sleeps with his eyes open or sleeptalks incomprehensible nonsense. It's simultaneously adorable, hilarious, and deeply unsettling. His sibling, Shani, constantly gives him a hard time about it. He doesn't mind -- he just likes having an inside joke with his sibling!
• His big sister, Tikvah, lets him borrow her calligraphy set to make ink art sometimes! He's still a beginner, but he thinks black-and-white ink art is really cool so he wants to practice until he gets good at it.
