Au where Alfred isn't born blind and grows up with his family, becoming a duke
He is a respected public figure, really calm and collected, some would say benevolent, as he is well known for helping poor lights who's village were destroyed, keeping his family name present and important after the war.
Once law prohibiting slavery is approved (though his family fought against it) he puts himself in charge of getting rid of hybrids his family had for sale (In the canon timeline it is Key who does it, and by shooting them) and decides to decapitate them in his garden. He enjoys this so much that he becomes a private executioner.
He releases the prisoners around his mansion for a day and lets them do whatever they want. He likes to accompany and talk them and is quite kind. Eventually they'll eat a bast dinner together and the unprepared prisoner will be guided to the garden, where Alfred will chop their head off and collect it in a locked closet with all the other heads!
He hears rumors of the "Light catcher" and is intimately intrigued by their form of killing. He interrogates people who claim to have seen em, eventually stumbling upon Lumi, who he investigated, interrogates and decapitates.
