SUMMARY

Cassima is a tall and thin tiefling with pointed ears and tan skin. She stands at 6'2" with a set of four curved, black horns that reach up another half a foot or so. She keeps her tousled hair shoulder-length, and though it's naturally a dark brown, she is often dyeing it salmon pink. She has a long tail with a puff of fur at the end, which almost always has a dark blue ribbon tied to it. Her bare back, which is usually covered, shows two marks on her shoulder blades that imply a pair of lost wings. Cassima is energetic and loves to make friends. She flirts often and without restraint, which often lands her in trouble. Her sense of pride is less than wanting, and she will do most anything to save it. A good person at heart, Cassima wants everyone to be safe and have a good time, at the cost of breaking the law.

CAMPAIGN (TERRATHORN)

[ I've only been playing in this campaign for a little over a month, so this section is short:]

Cassima Mandal is a tiefling from the hillsides of Oroxonia. Abandoned as a child, she was later picked up by a pair of traveling mercenaries who were heading West, to the Coast. After a quiet childhood there, she latched onto a wandering bard who promised to teach her the ways of barddom. However, the two of them split ways after a moral disagreement, and filled to the brim with hurt pride, Cassima refused to return home, deciding that she would learn first-hand, and independently, what it meant to be a real bard. Playing one day for a seaport tavern, she heard about treasures buried on an uninhabited island, and packed up her things and decided to go looking. Nothing by way of gold was found, but she met a lively party of a Minotaur barbarian, a human Monk, an elf wizard, a Goliath druid, and later on, a half elf warlock. After quickly bonding with them and making a few serious promises, she found herself thoroughly attached to the ragtag team of adventurers.

BACKSTORY (TERRATHORN)

THE OROXONIAN HILLSIDES

Before her family came to her, Cassima scraped by stealing from adventurers and soldiers who passed her way. She stayed in the woods, hidden and out of sight. When she attempted to rob a traveling cleric and monk pair, they caught her, and unlike the beating she was prepared to take, they showed her kindness. It wasn't their choice to have her come with them, but they couldn't shake her, and they decided to raise her as their own. Together, the three of them made their way to the West Coast to finally settle down.

THE WEST COAST

Cassima lived a fairly uneventful childhood once she was taken from the hillsides. Her parents built a small cottage on a cliffside, and after a year of living alone, were joined by Dune's brother Nicholas and his son Dmitri. Because of how close they were growing up, Cassima considers Dmitri her own brother, and Dune never had the heart to correct her.

MOE

RELATIONSHIPS

MALLORY (TERRATHORN)

Mallory is a lovely half elf hexblade warlock with blonde hair that's often done up on either side of her head, standing at a proud 5'9". She's often adorned in expensive white and gold garments, and an emerald jewel that sits on her forehead, matching the long earring on her left pointed ear.  She's a dainty ex-noble who appreciates manners and etiquette, and even though she has her heart set on murderous vengeance, Cassima understands that she's a good person who cares deeply for those around her. Though their relationship was at first a show of etiquette, Cassima quickly dropped her guard. She's very much devoted to Mallory, and even though she'll lapse into her prim tone of voice, she understands that she can be honest with Mallory.

Cassima sought out Mallory when she wasn't able to properly introduce herself, and they talked alone in Mallory's inn room for some time. Impressing Mallory with flattery and compliments, she quickly got onto Mallory's good side, offering to write her songs and serenades. The half elf showed off her apparating sword, which she claimed talked to her. Though Cassima couldn't hear it, she promised Mallory that she believed her. Mallory then dove into her past, leaving Cassima lost, but now fiercely protective of and loyal to the warlock for showing her vulnerable side.

Mallory's family are nobles in the Freefolk Federation, and she was arranged to marry a "well-mannered and handsome man, with dark hair and blue eyes," when on the night of their mock ceremony, she was assaulted by three women who knocked her unconscious, and taunted her, claiming that her fiance actually belonged to them. They mentioned a coven, a vampire, and Mallory underwent some sort of ritual, resulting in the talking sword. Mallory tells Cassima she wants Ferries and Eveonora dead, and she wants the party's help. Cassima had a feeling that the rest of the party didn't know what they were getting into, because she certainly didn't.

While traversing through the Darkwater Swamp, Mallory's sword pressures her to check behind a tree. Cassima jumps to join her in investigating. They find a small shape of a child made out of shadow that calls out Mallory's name, and asks her where its father is. Petrified with fear and confusion, Mallory begins to cry, and as the creature begins to shift, magically, Cassima steps forward to protect Mallory. But the creature only disappears, so Cassima leads a sobbing Mallory back to the rest of the party, joking that she wasn't the one who made Mallory upset. Neither of them have told the party what they saw.

NILFRIM, SON OF INGRID (TERRATHORN)

Nilfrim is a tall human monk who often has his blonde hair in dreads that run down his lower back, and a tied-off beard. He's generally quiet and well-meaning, and has proven himself to be recklessly good-natured, at the expense of his ego. She's gathered that he's a very respectful man, albeit a bit self-conscious, and very, very kind. She's taken very quickly to teasing him for her own entertainment.

After finding out Cassima was a bard, he asked her for help to write a song, to which she excitedly agreed. He explains that he's undergoing a test at his monastery, and the song is just one part of the assessment. In their songwriting session, he jokes about wanting ale so badly that he would punch Galdur in the dick. At his performance of the song, however, with Galdur present, he pointedly removes that line, and quickly covers up its existence when Cassima playfully pushes for it. He very quickly found out her mischievous and flirting tendencies, while she quickly learned that he was a much more abashed and awkward man than she had initially thought. When she puts out her hand to introduce herself, Nilfrim asks if he should shake it or kiss it, to which she challenges him to pick. He at first goes for the kiss, but changes his mind and shakes, nervously, with both hands, before making off with a bluff about the captain calling him.

In her talk with Mallory, Mallory recounts a memory where she wakes up screaming from nightmares, and, Galdur and Nilfrim, wanting to check up on their friend, rush into her inn room to her aid. But Nilfrim had rushed so quickly to Mallory's room that he forgot to clothe himself. Mallory begs Cassima not to tell him that she knows, for fear of embarrassing the monk.

Nilfrim needed a disguise to get through the Crimson Queen's defenses as the only human of their group, and sat and endured Cassima's very quick and very successful (a roll of 21) makeover that morning at the tavern. She took out his dreads and gave him fake ear tips, as well as mascara-ing his eyes and blushing his cheeks. When she was finished, Galdur spent 10 minutes trying to befriend this stranger who was suddenly amongst them.

GALDUR (TERRATHORN)

Galdur is an obnoxiously friendly minotaur barbarian who wants to befriend everything in sight. He's the tallest and most talkative member of the party, and is renown for his hugging tendencies. She's convinced that he's not very intelligent, and takes delight in entertaining him.

When Cassima first saw the party on the island, Galdur had broken the shaky docks by excitedly jumping onto them, and upon catching sight of her, tried to quickly make her a victim of one of his hugs. She nimbly dodged out of the way, to which he looked very confused, but she promised him a hug some time in the future. After finding a stash of probably magical beans, Galdur distributes a bean to each (present) member of the party, Cassima included, which warmed her to him very quickly. He gives her a scimitar that he's crafted himself with the word FRIENDS written on it in Primoridial (which she thinks is just chicken-scratch), and her heart is instantly won over.

ARGUN (TERRATHORN)

Standing at 7 feet and a half, Argun is a goliath druid, and until Cassima's arrival, the party's healer (as Cassima has guessed). He's extremely quiet, calm, and collected. Cassima isn't quite sure what to make of him or how to interact with him yet, but she deeply wants to be friends and is currently vying for his attention.

Cassima made the mistake of trying to pat Argun's wolf head after he transformed into his wild shape (with a roll of 0), to which Argun responded extremely negatively, using his entire movement and then some to get away from her. Cassima is afraid that he's scared of her, or that she's pissed him off. But she couldn't really help it -- patting druid heads is a habit that's hard to shake.

ATHVERITH (TERRATHORN)

Athverith is the quippy elf wizard of the group, who is often bantering with Galdur, which often only looks like Athverith calling Galdur an idiot without Galdur realizing. He's otherwise patient, although blunt, with the other members, and seems to be relied heavily on by everyone else. Cassima likes him, but thinks he's a bit out of her depth, and isn't sure how to really connect with him.

She visited him while he was in the library, trying to learn more about him, and Mallory, and the rest of the party, if possible, but because he was so focused on his studying, he hardly noticed her. She did not take too kindly to being ignored and left after a mere 15 minutes of talking to the back of an open book, but was able to coax some information out of him when she snuck some food in to him, predicting that he had forgotten to eat in his avid reading.
