Libby

Libby is a mermaid that currently resides in Coral Bay. She had known Oscar since childhood and the two formed a sibling like bond over the years. Oscar is the only reason she stays in Coral Bay, as she doesn't particularly like or trust humans, which has led to violent and even deadly encounters in the past. Libby behaves in the present for Oscar's sake, and due to being able to change into a human form, has been Oscar's way of experiencing the bay area. She is snappy with strangers, and often threatens those she feels carry ill intent, earning her a reputation amongst visitors. Libby only really lets her guard down around Oscar and some select members of the community around the bay, and can be sweet and caring to those she trusts. People of the Coral Bay area do still have to warn visitors about Libby, as she is still can be violent, malicious, and murderous from time to time, and many have had to be rescued after Libby has dragged them into the bay or has lured them with her songs with the intent to drown her victim. The bay people don't hold ill will toward her though, and will say they are glad to have her around regardless.
