About

Kiyo is a very shy and awkward young boy, he hates confrontation and prefers to maintain a low profile at all times to avoid people ever taking interest in him (something he always fails on as he’s very tall and clumsy). For some reason he’s always getting into unwanted trouble, because of his two left feet and slippery hands, he’s constantly breaking stuff and tripping over whatever’s on the ground.
Despite this he’s a very hard-working guy who just wants to help (even is he doesn’t directly offer the help, he just tries to help quietly) and “please people” just so they won’t hate him and avoid troubles, he wouldn’t even stand someone getting angry at him. If this ever happens he will get extremely anxious to the point of crying or at least sweating his heart out (lol).

Backstory

Born in a very poor family of fishers, Kiyo got used to work from dawn to dusk in order to give his family something to eat, even if that was fish everyday. At a very early age, he saw his older sisters get sold to an Okiya to turn into Geishas, just so they could get enough money to pay of debts.
Life was simple, just fishing and trying to avoid trouble. He didn’t really have a bad childhood even with his family’s financial troubles, he just tried to live a peaceful life with his parents and little sister.
However, he was aware that one day, the day of her getting sold to an Okiya will come… and when that day came, he saw himself left with nothing more than an old fishing rod and one of his sister’s hairpins.

Not many days passed until his parents decided it was time for him to move on too, and thus found him a job as a servant in the shogun’s mansion.

Current state

Kiyo's currently working at the Shogun's mansion as a simple servant. The Shogun and his family are very patient and kind with him, tho other servants are constantly annoyed at him because of his clumsyness and tendency to get in troubles.

• The family he's working for is a very important and powerful Zoroark clan. It is actually's Zora's family. Tho they aren't exactly close friends, Zora treats Kiyo as an equal and not like a servant at all.
• In contrast, Sakuya and Aria treat him as a burden and prefer to don't interact with him (as they do with most "low-rank" servants).
• Kiyo is constantly in contact with his family, specially with his middle sister who montly reports the happenings at the Okiya she and their other sister's work at.
• Most, if not all the money he makes, he sends to his family to help them pay off debts and live comfortable. Even if that means he has no savings for the future at all.
• Even if he lives in a mansion now, even as a servant he has some commodities, but as he's too used to live a "humble life" he sometimes falls asleep in the bare tatami floor and won't eat anything other than water and old bread (doesn't really feel worthy of eating anything else, but he tries lol).
