Ythrill is a motherly universe entity that, in a way, is responsible for all that ails the multiverse.

Appearance

Ythrill is pale skinned with light freckles on her face, shoulders, and arms. Her build is quite elegant and she is obviously not very strong or exceptionally agile. Her general demeanor also reflects this slower, elegant movement.

Ythrill's ears are deer-like and located at the side of her head. They share the metallic copper color with her hair. [*Still working on ear structure and movement.]

Her whiskers are medium length and tend to be wavy and kinked. [*I'm lacking a good reference for this.]

Ythrill's hair is quite thick, coarse, and somewhat frizzy, and is colored a lovely metallic copper, with the tips of her hair colored metallic silver. Her hair is usually pulled back into two pigtails- one much longer than the other. This style may make her hair difficult to draw in any other style.

Ythrill's eyes reflect a lovely deep blue night sky complete with colorful stars and wispy nebulae. Her eyes have no other structure, though still seem to convey far more emotion that they should be able to. Underneath them are distinct black markings, almost like horizontal curved check marks.

Attire

Wears simpler quanix clothing, often lacking in the accessories and geometric shape patterns, with hints of long lost styles. Overly asymmetrical for usual quanix attire as well.

Usual Attire: Gradient dress, optional mantle, boots, optional helmet, optional goggles, earrings, black tights...

Past Quanix Design

Short creme colored hair, deep blue eyes.

Past Quanix Attire

Simple clothing; a standard quanix tunic or something, essentially, what could be given to her.

Alternatively, she can be depicted in somewhat crude armor, once again, just what could be afforded or crafted.

Fairy Tale Designs

An image-only variation of Ythrill to be used in visualizations of depictions of her from the far past, where in she would actually resemble incomprehensible life forms. These designs will likely come straight form Aaneq's imagination, and so, will be heavily influenced by his opinions and cultural background.

Shadowy, vague, motherly, relations to nature, still somewhat quanix like, keeps her lovely starry eyes, depicted with floating halos...

Personality

Ythrill is kind, motherly, and loving, yet carries an unshakable remorse for actions that seemed to have been out of her control. Due to her age and very nature she is immeasurably patient and possesses a wise and knowledgeable air about her, though whether she will share that knowledge is never easy to predict, as rather than making herself important or especially memorable she watches mortal affairs from afar, offering minimal assistance as a supportive onlooker.

Motherly, Loving, and Kind to Mortals: Ythrill is kind and loving, seeing worth in even the most despicable of mortal beings. She tends to act motherly towards them, though in a somewhat distant way, as she is simply a guardian, a witness, rather than an actor in their affairs. She offers a warm place to stay, a loving smile, or a helping hand often to those who need it most, yet never desires or wishes for anything in return. She is all too aware of the harshness of existence and the burden that is mortality, and will put in remarkable effort in giving even just a single mortal something to strive for, a reason to continue and find the beauty and worth in their mortal existence.

Remorse: Beneath her kind exterior lies an unshakable sense of remorse. In a twisted way, she is responsible for all that ails the multiverse; it was her Aethyll and Umbriorum that shook and altered the futures of not one, but two foreign universes. her failure, or perhaps inability, to maintain and limit her counterparts lead to the reset of the entire material plane of one universe, and the destruction of a mighty, influential, mortal empire in the other. Although there is little that could have done, she still bears that burden of forever tainting two universes, two beings just like herself, who may very well succumb to the same fate as herself due to her counterpart's tampering. As much as she loves and forgives mortals, she can never really forgive herself, even with Aaneq playing her role and trying to convince her that she was powerless to stop it.

An Alternative View:Ythrill's "hands-off" approach to observing mortals could be seen as cruel; she possesses the ability to influence their lives for the better, and yet, she doesn't.

Voice and Dialogue

Ythrill is quite soft spoken, with a light and motherly tone just oozing with kindness. Listening to her voice can be quite calming, though etched into her kind words are somber undertones of wisdom and regret. Her vocabulary is extensive, and her dialogue tends to be somewhat formal in nature. Her speech is flawed, however; she often pauses and stammers, but for those willing to listen she tells eloquent stories ranging from the tales from mortals- both fiction and fact- to stories that span entire races and empires.

[WIP] [From Wikipedia] "Incomplete syllable repetition,"  "part word repetition," occasional "block," "whole word repetition" with short terms.
She tends to stutter on: words that start with "Th" [There, The], words beginning with "A"? [Aaneq], words beginning with "T", shorter connecting words, [How, To, Are]
Tends to stutter more on consonants, perhaps as well with very open vowels such as "Ah" and "Oh"
Worsens with emotional strain or with repetitive failures.
She messes up her full name, somehow, very consistently. "Ythrillaerest-tra" Perhaps also with the "ae" into the "r", slurring it into something like "Ythrill-Ireaistra" or... something... The "Ae" could also be where a break occurs, "Ythrillae-aerest-t-tra"

"A-aaneq, It's good t-to see you again after so long."

Habits

  • Lingering far too long on silence within a conversation.
  • Tends to move somewhat slowly and elegantly, taking her time with even simple movements.

Hobbies

  • Listening to the tales of mortals.
  • Sharing stories.
  • Occasionally playing a minor role among mortals, often acting as a minor character to another's far more impressive tale.

Likes

  • Listening to the stories of mortals, whether they are based in fiction or fact.
  • Telling her own stories, often of subjects that are difficult for mortals to fully understand. None the less, she enjoys passing on these otherwise unknowable tales to patient listeners.
  • Admiring nature.
  • Watching the lives of mortals from afar.

Dislikes

  • Witnessing life in distress.
  • Conflict, though she knows that it is necessary.

Goals

  • Nudge Aaneq into having less of a distaste for both himself and others.

Stats

Universe Entity Attributes: She is not all-knowing or all-powerful, though certainly isn't a being to disregard. Can manipulate her physical form and the very existence around her. Magic, therefore, is of no issue, and mortal technology too can be easily controlled.

In Accordance to the Abilities of Quanix: Can see in infrared, see better in the dark [though is photosensitive], can see more differences in colors, hear slightly better than a human, can sense energy around her, and possesses a natural telepathic potential. She is unaffected by the usual quanix ties to instinct.

Emotional Manipulation: Ythrill tends to subtly manipulate the emotional state of the mortals around here in various ways. Usually, she gives off a calming presence that eases the fears of even the most easily spooked quanix. She also uses this manipulation to better get across to mortals her own feelings; if she is feeling remorse, happy, or frustrated, the individual that she is speaking to is likely to pick up on the emotion, whether they fully realize it or not.

Memory: Possesses a gradually failing memory. Stories, information, names, and faces seem to come and go, only occasionally able to be recalled.

Skills

Medicine: Learned to play the role of a rebellious quanix medic in their last war.

Combat: Picked up on standard combat during the last quanix war.

Knowledge

Of Incomprehensible Times, Beings, Concepts, and Places: Having lived so long, she has experienced most of what existence has to offer. Mortals and their remarkable creations, beings and places incomprehensible to mere mortals, and real-life tales that go on for eons, far outdoing any work of fiction humanity has to offer. She can try to tell some of these stories, describe these people and places, but storytelling can get across so much information. Inevitably, information and context will be lost.

Of Other Universes: Ythrill is aware of the existence of both Kito and Arkin.

Notable Possessions

Helmet: A helmet adorned with two distinct bismuth horns. The metal is engraved with complex quanix runes, and a few jewels are embedded in the front. Occasionally a starry wisp materializes between the two horns, but this design aspect is rare.

Shield: A rounded shield sporting large designs and a few embedded gemstones; is based on the shield she wielded during the last quanix war.

Umbrella: An umbrella made of crystal shards; floating crystals unfold from the umbrella's shaft and are strung together by an energy-based shield powered by magic.

Spear: A beautiful crystal spear wrapped in flowery vines riddled with thorns; it is a more mystical take on an old weapon wielded during the last quanix war.

Goggles: Simple tinted goggles. She occasionally wears them in more frigid and harsh environments, or to hide her eyes.

Usual Inventory

Ythrill tends to simply summon or materialize what she desires to have and very rarely carries objects on her person.

Story

Far Past

At some point Ythrill no longer wished to be a mere observer to it all, and instead decided to live among the beings that gradually began to inhabit existence. She found enjoyment in how well they took to existing, and in how they adapted to living out their entire existence within such a minuscule window of time.

Ythrill, [Possibly playing the role of an accidentally influential mortal, though also perhaps not] was put on trial by a powerful race obsessed with maintaining law and order throughout their known galaxy. This action was seen as unjust by their tool of justice, The Immortal, and the leaders of this race ended up as the guilty party instead. The Immortal came to the conclusion that no mortal being's say could possibly outweigh what is written into existence itself, and thus, couldn't possibly be held against the universe entity. She then carried out what she found to be the correct punishment for the race; the destruction of their flawed justice system. This was Ythrill's personal introduction to The Immortal, and even then it was quite clear that this being was one that would remain for a long time to come.

This Immortal later attempted to venture beyond the boundaries of her own universe and into the inter. This attempt failed miserably, as is to be expected, and though The Immortal managed to return to Ythrill, it would have died had the universe entity not stepped in. Ythrill spared the being of justice, likely out of kindness or pity for the creature that misjudged its capabilities.

Past

Qusteria and Cypher, Ythrill's most recent Aethyll being and Umbriorum respectfully, proved to be out of the ordinary right off the bat. Questeria lacked in an interest with mortals and seemed to be aware of her own mortality, even going so far as to fear her inevitable demise. She failed to "teach" Cypher his duties and role and tended to ignore him when she could, leading to strange patterns in his behavior as well. He was rebellious, seeming to crave attention due to having received so little. The pair's odd chemistry was unlike any Ythrill had seen before; it broke the well-established pattern. At the time it was merely a serious break from the status quo, but gradually these two aspects of Ythrill would create increasing amounts of trouble for mortals and universes alike.

Quanix Past

"Ythrill, playing the role of a relatively young mage, joins the rebellion amidst the chaos of war. Her character, if you will, can heal others as per her magic and is not especially powerful and seems to have been affected by the artifacts and tools only in the way of her speech [she stutters.] She has more telepathic potential than most of the other mages, yet still isn’t a true telepath, and plays her role as having a distaste for it, likely due to a backstory of her own creation. She acts as a medic for whatever group she is with, playing a supportive role rather than a defensive or offensive one She is known to wield an ornate shield, said to have been stolen from her Master’s home. She is taught, gradually, to use that shield, as well as a spear [standard weaponry]

She is known for telling stories, being kind and friendly, and acting as moral support. She ends up being well-liked, defended, protected, even.

She is rarely faced with conflict, but when she is dragged into it, she plays a defensive role, favoring her shield. She does not directly kill any opposing quanix, and perhaps some rumors of this arise.

Ythrill becomes a close friend with a fellow mage; a female, a bit lowly in her rank. She is fiery and driven, yet troubled in some way. She likely falls in love with Ythrill at some point, at times believing her to be a being of the veil, a minor deity, or a guardian angel come to watch over them. She inevitably dies on the battlefield, and Ythrill comforts her, letting her in on the truth of her existence through a touching bit of telepathy just before she passes.

Ythrill accompanies a high-ranking official [general?] in their rebellion group to visit the alleged prophet, the witch of the mountains, as they have become desperate in their struggle. The prophet requires their general to trade in one of his eyes for her services.

While there, Ythrill is spoken to by the prophets assistant, a quanix just as mysterious as the witch herself: “What could possibly drive someone as beautiful as you to partake in this horrendous war?” The Immortal speaks only this line of dialogue, to which Ythrill has no response."

[-Unedited, from some recent notes I jotted down at like 2:30 AM]

Pre-World Ending Game

After an especially difficult night, Aaneq ventured atop [some sort of building, likely Questeria's tower on the palace grounds] and reflected on life. For a moment, he felt that he might be brave enough, defiant enough, to just give up; but before anything came out of this development, Ythrill joined him on the balcony, asking in a soft tone, "Have you come t-to admire the view as well?" If any mortal could use her help, it would be this one; Aaneq was insignificant to his people, alone, and full of hatred for the beings that Ythrill had come to love. Ythrill damn-near spooked him off of the edge of the balcony upon her arrival, though she wouldn't have allowed him to fall. From there, they spoke, and Ythrill managed to convince Aaneq to retain some optimism, at least for now, though never in a direct manner.

World Ending Game

Aaneq... Soulska...

Was happy for Q, it was nice seeing her care about mortals... Allowed Soulska to continue returning because of this...*Death of Q and Cypher somewhere in here...

Post-Q

The final conversation with Soulska?

 Relationships

Aaneq

"Aaneq is a troubled mortal; he hates people, himself included. She is determined to give him insight into the kinder side of existence, so often chats with him, tells him stories, and takes him to interesting locations. The boy fell in love with her at some point, but she simply cannot return that emotion. She sees mortals as children, and cares for them as a mother might- not as a romantic interest. She can feign such a relationship, but refuses to do so." [From links page]

Questeria

Ythrill's most recent Aethyll Being, and perhaps her last. Whether due to Ythrill's personality or her very role in existence, she loves Questeria. It is a soft, maternal, yet slightly distant love that persisted even as Questeria resigned herself to view mortals with nothing but disdain, even when Questeria grew needlessly hostile towards her and Cypher, even when Questeria abused her power in order to cheat death and display her dominance over the multiverse itself, and even now in her continued absence that may have finally granted her wish for true immortality. Ythrill can only hope that she is finally happy.

Cypher

Ythrill's most recent Umbriorum, and perhaps her last. Whether due to Ythrill's personality or her very role in existence, she loves Cypher.

The Immortal

"The Immortal is a being crafted by other mortals for a single purpose. It was not the first time such a thing has occurred- after all, mortals often take pride in tampering with the nature of life. This particular being, however, had proved itself quite hardy; it has survived far longer than expected having lived off of the energy of others. Ythrill keeps a close eye on the being, as it could easily spiral out of control and cause havoc for younger mortals. Luckily, the being is subservient to her. The Immortal is one of the few beings that Ythrill will severely damage if nessessary with little remorse." [From links page]

Kito

A fellow universe, unjustly wronged by her inability to properly keep her two counterparts in check. She can only hope that he can come to forgive her.

 Trivia

  • Ythrill is the key component in keeping the Inter Isthmus between the three Universes open. Once she dies the Isthmus will collapse.
  • Ythrill is the eldest of the three universes, with Arkin being the youngest, and Kito being in between the three.
  • In either of her quanix forms, she is the shortest of the universes.

Quotes and Excerpts

"I remember places, th-though I can no longer rec-call their context, or inhabitants... they are now but remnants of memories."

"Mortal creativity seems t-to know no bounds, and when combined with th-their sheer ingenuity, marvels of mortal devising a-are practically unavoidable."

-The RP "Can We meet Again" in which Ythrill chats with Kito in the Inter. It's a little outdated, but still has a few quotes I can put here. [Quotes slightly edited.]

 Author's notes

  • I ship Ythrill and Kito way more than I probably should. They are just absolutely adorable. Alas, it can never be.
  • I also ship Ythrill and Aaneq, but that can't exactly work out either.
  • One time, in a non-cannon scenario, Kito and Ythrill fought. It ended up with Kito flying into a wall made of crystal. Apparently, he no longer likes walls.
  • The markings under her eyes are way older than the character herself. They were originally used in the design of, essentially, a persona from my middle school days.
  • In my play-through of Miitopia, Ythrill played the role of a kind cleric. She had to deal with quite the handful of party members, but still managed to keep us from dying plenty of times. She has trouble landing that "riotous anger" move, but who can blame her; she isn't exactly known for being angry at things, even if they deserve it, such as the case of many of the monsters we faced. [Heh, "faced."]

Creation

  • Ythrill's lovely eyes were inspired by the eyes of Lapis Lazuli from Steven Universe. I'm a bit of a sucker for those sorts of blank-looking eyes
  • She was inspired by my friend's universe character, Kito. I basically decided to make one too, and it worked out well.

Art

  • She can be drawn without certain aspects of her design, most notably that helmet. I happily welcome alterations to her current design or alternate clothing designs in general. Her overall appearance should usually be one of elegance or subtleties with poses and expressions that are more neutral and passive than overt.

Music

  • Love Like You: I relate this entire song to both Ythrill and Aaneq, and many of the lyrics can be associated to both of them with slightly different meanings. Ythrill does not, and seemingly can't, love mortals as they might love each other. She sees them as children, not something to love romantically. In a way, she is also fascinated by mortals; their stories, how they make the most of their short lives, how they interact with one another. There's also the fact that Aaneq holds her in such high regards, and she doesn't quite understand it. She has essentially failed both them and her Aethyll and Umbri counterparts and has allowed countless bouts of manipulation to both Arkin and Kito. Just imagine that she sort of takes the place of any Rose-sounding verses.
  • Goodbye to a World: This song is mostly related to the interactions and emotions between Kito and Ythrill, but seems Ythrill-centric. Both the overall tone and many of the lyrics seem to fit her situation in my eyes. At some point, she becomes all too aware that, just as the past and even present Umbriorum and Aethyll beings die and are reborn, she herself is incapable of escaping death. This event is sure to shake Kito in turn, both as losing a friend and as a reminder that he too is not really as immortal as one might believe. It's kind of a sad song to relate to them, but it works quite well.
  • Two of a Kind: This one mostly relates to the relationship between Ythrill, Questeria, and Cypher, as well as their shared fates.
  • Savior: I relate this to the relationship between Kito and Ythrill, as well as the circumstances surrounding all three ill-fated universes.
