Story

Lorelei’s parents served under a noble family with close ties to the Chantry in Starkhaven. Growing up, she was treated relatively well (the work was hard but she was only beaten twice) and as she grew older she was given the lifelong task of serving the family’s heir, a young man who would eventually find himself joining the Templar order.

As her young master learned to fight so did she, in order to serve as an equal sparring partner. As he learned from specialized teachers, she learned from various texts, so that he could test his knowledge.

When her master’s training had come to a close, she was his equal in both battle and intellect. But he was a Templar and, as he would put it, she was one in spirit. The time came for him to take his vows and Lorelei travelled with him to Val Royeaux as both his servant and moral support.

She’d remain in the city for a few more years hoping for the chance to catch a glimpse of her former master. But, as luck would have it, they wouldn’t meet again until after the explosion of Kirkwall’s Chantry. This is also around the time where she starts freelancing as a mercenary.

When they finally meet up again, it’s as through no time has passed and she is over joyed. She travels with him for a visit back home where he releases her from her duties, an act that she finds both surprising and unsurprising, as she had been serving no one but her self for the past few years.
