”Do you remember the rainfall so long ago?”

The skies were dark and stormy, Strix knows. She were off on her own for the first time, exploring the world away from the safety of home. Unfortunately, Strix had little sense of direction, and by the time the raindrops started to fall she was very lost. The drizzle soon turned into a torrent of water, a storm that sent her tumbling far, far away from the place she knew. Strix finally found shelter in a hollow tree that was cold, but at least out of the water. She fell asleep, and by the time she awoke the next day, the rain had paused, and Strix had no idea where she was. She'd never find her way back home.

Strix traveled on her own where she could, surviving on what she could find. Whenever she saw another one of her kind, she tended to stay far away, minding her own business. Every time, she'd check to see if the figures were her parents, and she was always sorely disappointed.

Eventually she found a place she decided to stay, a small cave filled with moss. It might not have been anything big, but it was the home she made for herself. From there, she explored outwards, always coming back to safety. She started to gather little trinkets from her journeys, appreciating the way they made her cave home shine.

To this day, Strix lives there, not talking much with others and being fairly content with the lot she has in life. All is well, for the most part. Although, when the clouds roll in and the rain begins to fall once more, Strix hides away, deep inside the cave, and refuses to come out. She still remembers the first time she encountered that part of the weather, and the trouble it brought her.
