Tziron is the onixar translator and makeshift engineer aboard Vena's modified pixie cargo ship, The Koy.
Originally, this quiet
translator was seeking a far less adventurous route in life; he had left home in an attempt to gain first hand experience about the galaxy and it's inhabitants by joining a space-bound crew, preferably one that would make deliveries or transport people to a wide variety of places. He never expected to find himself deciphering a foreign language spoken by a man who crashed his unidentified ship into a pixie space station for Vena Qaw herself, the heiress to the incredibly influential Ixan* empire. Following a job well done, Vena offered Tziron a job aboard her ship. Despite the intimidating nature of the request, he accepted the offer; after all, this was everything he had been looking for, and so much more. Thus began his adventures aboard The Koy.

Appearance

Tziron is not especially strong or agile, but not really unhealthy either, and his skin tone is quite light.

His hair is bright white in color, straight, somewhat thin, and comes down a good bit below his shoulders [~15" long.] Is is usually worn in a simple ponytail, but on occasion he will leave it down, or style it in a braid of varying complexities.

His eyes are colored light gold, and generally he will wear a pair of silver framed glasses.

Attire

Tziron prefers clothing that he is familiar with, generally consisting of long sleeved shirts-often with patterns made of small parts-, comfortable pants [so, cloth rather than jeans. ugh I need to get better at these descriptions.] and closed toes shoes that more often end up being boots. Most of what he prefers to wear is built around being worn in codler weather, and it has a focus on being conformable rather than visually interesting.

Outfit: Long sleeved shirt made of soft cotton featuring a simple collar, a few cloth buttons, and embroidered patterns along the bottom trim, and in few palaces around the arms. The embroidered main pattern is beneath the buttons, and features a stylized sun. Along with the shirt he wears some slightly loose fitting pants, some boots [that i actually took a picture of] and some gloves. His hair is ties back with a rubber band adorned with a few dangling beads.

Personality

A bit awkward, shy, not too confident. This is however mended somewhat depending on the topic and who he is speaking to. Very modest, easily flustered, a little lacking in the common sense department. Perfectionist, surprisingly determined when it comes to something that he feels confident in.

In Accordance to the Standard Onixar Disposition: Not very curious.

Perfectionist: He's something of a perfectionist when it comes to his work, especially if he's doing something for someone else.

Voice and Dialogue

Quiet and unobtrusive, sometimes reflecting his lack of confidence, though this can fluctuate with which language he utilizes. He prefers to be careful, so speaks a bit slowly, making sure to be understood. He tends to use "Ah" and "Ahm" as a placeholder instead of “Umm” and the like, and tries his best to speak with few grammatical errors no matter which language he's dealing with. His vocabulary is generally more on the casual side, but he can pull out some fancy words in a good several languages, though he often leaves such fancy wording to his writing. [Even though the writer isn't so skilled]

"I, ah... believe that he may have a point."

Habits

  • Brushing a strand of hair back behind his ear when he gets nervous, whether there's actually a strand to place or not.

Hobbies

  • Writing; usually for others, though he also keeps journal entries.
  • Reading; usually historical or culturally influential texts with the occasional poem thrown in.
  • Solving puzzles, usually in the form of those sent by his friend Jirous.
  • Swordplay; a nice hobby, though not exactly practical- at least, in his hands.

Likes

  • Slightly sweet pastries
  • Hot tea, preferably slightly bitter.
  • Cooler weather.
  • A light snow; enough to blanket the yard and craft snowmen out of, but not so much as to create problems.
  • The beach.

Dislikes

  • Killing bugs.
  • Spicy or overly sweet foods; chocolate.
  • Public speaking.
  • When people look through his writing without permission.
  • Hot and humid weather.

Goals

  • Gain experience with the world, other cultures, people, and even with just being his own person.
  • Improve as a linguist.
  • Get better at social interactions, be more open, more confident, and less shy.

Stats

Is quite intelligent, though on occasion fails in the common sense department.Has an expansive understanding on language, and is fluent in a good several. He can use a sword relatively effectively.

In Accordance to the Abilities of All Onixars:

Memory: Tziron possesses an exceptional memory, especially in regards to visuals. This natural affinity may very well be part of what makes him such an exceptional linguist.

Farsighted and Colorblind: Is farsighted. Is color blind; can't tell red from things. [WIP] [protanopia][*Protanopes are more likely to confuse:-

  • Black with many shades of red
  • Dark brown with dark green, dark orange and dark red
  • Some blues with some reds, purples and dark pinks
  • Mid-greens with some oranges]

[WIP] From wikipedia: "Protanopia is a severe form of red-green color blindness, in which there is impairment in perception of very long wavelengths, such as reds. To these individuals, reds are perceived as beige or grey and greens tend to look beige or grey like reds. It is also the most common type of dichromacy today. This problem occurs because patients do not have the red cone cells in the retina."

"Protanopia is a severe type of color vision deficiency caused by the complete absence of red retinal photoreceptors. Protans have difficulties distinguishing between blue and green colors and also between red and green colors. It is a form of dichromatism in which the subject can only perceive light wavelengths from 400 to 650 nm, instead of the usual 700 nm. Pure reds cannot be seen, instead appearing black; purple colors cannot be distinguished from blues; more orange-tinted reds may appear as very dim yellows, and all orange–yellow–green shades of too long a wavelength to stimulate the blue receptors appear as a similar yellow hue."

"unable to distinguish between colors in the greenyellowred section of the spectrum. They have a neutral point at a cyan-like wavelength around 492 nm (see spectral color for comparison) – that is, they cannot discriminate light of this wavelength from white. For a protanope, the brightness of red, orange, and yellow are much reduced compared to normal. This dimming can be so pronounced that reds may be confused with black or dark gray, and red traffic lights may appear to be extinguished. They may learn to distinguish reds from yellows primarily on the basis of their apparent brightness or lightness, not on any perceptible hue difference. Violet, lavender, and purple are indistinguishable from various shades of blue because their reddish components are so dimmed as to be invisible. For example, pink flowers, reflecting both red light and blue light, may appear just blue to the protanope."

Skills

Weaponry: He can wield a sword and knife to some success, and at least knows how to fire a gun.

Writing and Translations: Poetry, however, still gives him trouble.

Knowledge

Language: Is better with written language rather than spoken.

Culture: Has more knowledge of a few more culture details than most.

Engineering: As far as crap engineers go... there could be worse.

Notable Possessions

Sword: A well-made sword. Probably more decorative than anything else... right?

Dagger: A dagger with a hilt that looks far fancier than it actually is.

Bookmark: A bookmark crafted for him by his sister; It's a laminated slip of patterned thick paper featuring a poetic message from her, as well as a pressed flower. At the top of the bookmark is a sturdy string with a bead and tassel at the end.

Countless Journals and Notebooks: Tziron very rarely throws any of his writing out, and he seems to have a current journal for anything that he might want to write. he doesn't exactly label any of them either, so someone else would find it somewhat difficult to remember which one was which.

Plenty of Books: So, so many books. Textbooks, some dictionaries, collections of poems, classic epics with notes scribbled into them...

Usual Inventory

  • At least one journal or Notebook
  • Dagger

Notable Settings

His Quarters: On The Koy- he shares a room with Gear. He tends to keep his room relatively neat and organized, aside from the many notebooks he owns, which seem to have no organization as far as in what order they are stored, and on occasion they will be out of place, usually laying on a desk or his bed. The closest thing to a library on board the ship.

Story

WIP

As a child, Tziorn felt obligated as an older brother to look after his sister, who is blind. He took a reserved approach, trying to avoid trouble, while she was constantly searching for adventure, determined to not let her disability hamper her. In a way, she provided Tziron with much of his confidence by forcing them into a few interesting situations, as well as just being incredibly energetic, supportive, and optimistic.

He likely attended some sort of college with Jirous, and considering his current skill set, he must have learned a good deal.

looking for a crew to tag along with when he gets dragged into quite the scenario- a ship jumped right into a station above the world, and it was only evacuated thanks to the warning of a single seer. This ship ended up crashing nearby the city that he was staying in. While most of this was going on Tziron was taking a nap, and only awoke when his isolated napping place outside the city became the crash site.

Upon discovering the pilot of the ship- as well as some of his intriguing weaponry- the pixie enforces apprehended him, and requested that Tziron assist with trying to work through a language gap. He, of course, accepted and did so.

Once things calm down Tziron is asked if he wishes to join Vena’s crew, and he accepts, using this as an opportunity to learn more about the cultures belonging to those on board. Thus begins his adventures on board The Koy!

Relationships

Gear

Tziron's roommate and good friend.

Trivia

  • Others tend to pronounce his name in slightly different ways, and most leave out the weird “Tz” sound at the beginning, opting to just use the “Z”. Tziron does not correct such minute errors.
  • Will rant about translating poetry for HOURS.
  • Met Jirous due to a situation involving his color blindness.
  • His sister wanted her hair braided so Tziron learned and would braid her hair for her; hence why he's actually quite good at it.

Quotes and Excerpts

'I found a bug while in the shower. Please don’t kill it, or else I will feel guilty over it. I will take care of it later, one way or another. (Be careful, it’s big and probably bites…) -Tziron.’ -A note left by Tziron to the rest of the crew. He later warns everyone that a large cardboard eating bug is loose on the ship. He wasn't exactly taken too seriously at first.

-One of the space RPs, at... some point.

 Author's notes

  • In my play-through of Miitopia, Tziron played the role of a cautious princess. My favorite moment from him was when I realized that he could be dressed in a maid outfit and be armed with a fan made out of pizza.
    • During the final boss fight he, Eryx, and Theo grouped up to take down one of the hands. I hadn't planned to use all the Koy folks as a team and only noticed once the battle started. It was a wonderful coincidence!

Creation

  • Tziron was created in a hurry specifically a single RP, and yet he became one of my favorite of the crew.

Art

  • Tziron generally appears a little nervous or shy; I personally lean towards a slightly embarrassed smile.
