The Sentinel was, just as any other Jade, a worker in the brooding caverns. She put up a gentle and neutral facade so that she could protect herself and her fellow Jades from suspicious drones, but in the light of the day she would rush out of the caverns to meet her quadmates, Harlekin and Redshift... Though, it was mostly for the former, as she was never really fond of Redshift. Together they would don protective clothing and go to a junkyard, equipped with bats to wreck anything they could get their hands on. It was a great escape from the pressures of Alternian life-- especially when Harlekin brought in the newly orphaned Motley.

It was shocking to her, but Sentinel was excited to help Harlekin raise the wriggler-- especially because, well, Harlekin had no idea what they were doing. This was standard, of course, with Jades and lusii being the only denizens of the planet who knew how to handle children. As great as this experience was for them overall, the job of raising a child when they were practically children themselves was beyond stressful. Because of this, Sentinel left the caverns more and more often not only to help Harlekin, but also to relieve her stress in the junkyard.

Naturally, Redshift was very little help-- and would continue to be up until his and her very ends.

Not long after their exile, Sentinel was met face to face with Harlekin-- eyes a bright, flashing purple and hands trembling as they gripped their signature spiked bat tight. Sentinel's concern turned to horror as Harlekin's chucklevoodoo was forced on her, and she likely would have died of a heart attack if it wasn't for the gruesome bludgeoning that ended her life.

She knew Redshift's encouragement of Harlekin's studies in chucklevoodoo couldn't have been in good faith.
