Backstory:

“This isn’t my body anymore.”

Life wasn’t always like this for Nox. He used to live a quiet and peaceful life going by name “Azael”. Many years ago, Azael was gifted a rather heavy book as a reward for his hard work. He was told that it contained lots of knowledge and mysterious powers to those who read it. Azael was sceptical at first, but his naïve nature made him believe the so called myth. He didn’t think he would need such things so he kept the book in a drawer next to his bed. A few years had passed and Azael had actually forgotten about the book, life was good as always. Upon opening the drawer, he remembered the book he was gifted once. Curiosity got the better of him, so he decided to flip through the dusty pages. While trying to understand the strange symbols and drawings written on the pages, he heard knocking on the door.

“Hey Azael, we need some help with collecting wood for the winter!”

He left the book in the drawer again and went ahead to lend a hand. A few days later during the night, his hands started to tingle and itch as if they wanted to act on their own.

“Probably nothing to worry about.”

“Are you sure about that?”

It was almost as if it was his own voice was questioning him. No one seemed to be around. He sighed and went outside to catch a fresh breath. A tall, shadowy figure stood before him.

“Ahh… Can I help you?” Azael muttered, confused about the sudden appearance.

The figure didn’t say anything but just followed him. Things went downhill from there, Azael started to hear voices which weren’t just his own, commanding him to do unthinkable things. More and more shadow figures started to appear and follow him in silence. Some leaving a chilling wind as they passed by. Desperate to get rid of everything he opened the charred book on the bottom of his drawer. Before he could open the book, a powerful force blasted him against the wall. From within the book crawled out a creature made of bones and tar, looking at Azael directly.

“You’ve been chosen to become my next legacy.”

Azael tried to flee but a string of tar latched onto his leg, pulling him closer.

“It won’t hurt. For now atleast.” The creature shrieked as he impaled Azael with several cursed spikes, one which shattered his purple eye.

He let out a agonizing scream of pain, hoping this was all a nightmare. The voices became louder and louder and his actions started to become reckless without a single bit of control.

“Welcome to my army Nox. Enjoy your stay while it lasts.”
