Jack Richard Teague

Birth

Jack Teague was born into odd circumstances. 

Angie Hopkins, his biological mother (also the goblin half of him), had no idea what to do with him. She had a one night stand with a human and now she was pregnant! As much as she loved children, Angie understood that she would not be able to properly care for him. So, she wrote down Jack's birthday on a piece of paper and dropped her unnamed son at the doorstep of a random home in Dartford, England.

That random home belonged to Johnny and Amanda Teague. Johnny was a punk rocker whose passion for music and need to support his family motivated him to open a music shop. Amanda was a biology professor at a local university whose kind nature came from a long line of philanthropists.

The two were excited (albeit confused) to take in the baby. Jack made noises reminiscent of a jackdaw's call. As soon as Amanda pointed out the noises, Johnny suggested the name Jack. 

Home

Jack's home life was rather calm and happy. When he began talking at 2 years old, his parents were quick to notice his stutter. However, they agreed that he would only go to speech therapy if he wanted to. Jack also began to show autistic traits at this time, constantly flapping his hands and showing intense interest in The Rolling Stones. It seemed as if Rolling Stones records were all that played for his early childhood. He also was severely sensitive to light, sound and texture. He would often have meltdowns during thunderstorms or if put in uncomfortable clothing.

Jack struggles with his coordination to this day. The first time he showed this was when he was 1 year old and attempting to walk. He appeared similar to a drunkard in his attempts to walk around. His father did his best to help him walk at least somewhat well.

When he was 10, Jack received a guitar due to his deep interest in playing. The first piece he learned was Malagueña. He worked on it for hours until the song was perfected. 

At age 13, Jack began to have a crush on Mick Jagger. He discussed this with his parents, being told that he shouldn't tell everyone only because of the homophobic climate they lived in. However, he was very proudly accepted at home.

School

School was a completely different story. Jack was abused to no end because of his identities. The earlier days were more verbal-  only being called "stupid", "weird", etc. The later years of school included the usage of many slurs targeting his disabilities and appearances. He was also made fun of for his coordination issues. His peers greatly intensified his already existing anxiety. 

The severe physical abuse started in his mid to late teens. The kids who pushed him were now shoving him against the wall and punching him. This resulted in to permanently missing teeth and a broken nose.

Adult Life

When Jack turned 20, he moved into a flat in his hometown. He lives on the 9th floor.

The 80s is not a time that he likes to remember. He used to go to a gay pub near his flat where he would listen to music and have whatever non-alcoholic drinks the bar had. However, the 1980s were the start of the AIDs crisis. Just as he thought he found a possible boyfriend, the AIDs scare crashed down on the club quicker than one could blink. By the end of the 80s, the pub was completely empty.

Fast forwarding a few decades, Jack met his first and best friend. In the summer of 2018, he zoned out to the point where he somehow laded in Detroit, Michigan. He appeared at the house Faust Niccals lived in. Faust, a 7-foot tall demon, tried to make sure Jack wasn't scared to death of him. After Jack opened up a little and had a glass of water, they soon became extremely close friends. Jack found his way back home via portal and he visits Faust very often.

For his (upcoming) 53rd birthday, Faust made Jack a cane with a guitar as the handle. Jack was extremely grateful for this present.

Abilities

Goblins are tricksters. Due to this, they can have a wide range of abilities to help them make mischief. Jack was born with the ability of vocal mimicry. He's able to mimic any masculine voice he hears after a little bit of practice. 

Jack is also able to make a large amount of noises in order to convey an emotion. These include:

- Purring
- Meowing
- Hissing
- Growling
- Whimpering
- Chirping (including the occasional cawing)

Mannerisms

Jack has very cat-like mannerisms, given I based goblins off of cats. He has slightly-larger-than-usual pointed ears that move around depending on emotion or a source of sound. When he's happy, his ears wiggle. When sad, they droop. If he gets agitated, then his ears press to the back of his head. 

When around friends or family, he presses his head against their shoulders just as a cat would, signifying friendship or family. 

When in a relationship, he will often call his partner "Pretty" as a nickname. 

Sensory Issues, Accommodations, and Stims

He has very severe sensory issues. Even in the usually cloudy weather of England, Jack will usually find himself wearing sunglasses not only in order to avoid light, but also to avoid eye contact. He's also often seen wearing a pair of headphones around his neck. He plays music in loud settings so that he doesn't have a meltdown. Jack also needs to stim by chewing, so he has numerous chew necklaces in his drawers. To sleep or to comfort himself, Jack owns a weighted blanket that he rarely takes out of his home. Because of his sensory issues pertaining to touch, he is unable to get haircuts because they're almost physically painful to him. However, he's fine with shaving just his face because facial hair feels awful to him.

More on stims, Jack's most common stim is tied between flapping his hands and rocking back and forth. Both of these stims could be anxious or joyful depending on the setting.
