Auset is the political head of the camp of refugees in the Calim Desert. Her wife Omna is a spiritual leader whose magic helps them eek out a living despite the harsh climate. While she prefers to stay away from conflict, choosing to leave that to her wife, she does command respect in her own way. The two remain strong figureheads for the people of their community, and find comfort in each other.

Auset

Many years ago, Auset, a young Chultan sailor, was shipwrecked off the coast of Calimsham, ending up in the Calim Desert. She found herself among others who had formed a rough camp trying to stay safe from the elements. With her strong will and charisma she helped round them up into a community, turning their ramshackle camp into a passable city. She began regular scouting parties to find others lost in the unforgiving desert, and under her leadership the town began to flourish as best it could. She is level-headed and logical, often coming across as cold and unfeeling as a result. However, she cares very deeply for the community that took her in, and wants to provide that to anyone who enters their commune.

Omna

Omna comes from a celestial bloodline, though her angelic ancestor was many generations before her. She displays minimal celestial power but radiates a positive and hopeful energy. She became lost in the Calim Desert during a mission trip and was taken in by the community run by Auset. While she stayed and recuperated she found herself falling for the tough but fair leader, and when she was well again she decided to stay. Omna enjoys working with the few children in town and loves teaching magic. She is reserved but pleasant and enjoys the quiet company of others.
