Yasu Afuru | Canary

Yasu Afuru (アフル•ヤス Afuru Yasu), known as Canary, is a student in class 1A at U.A High School. She is the daughter of the late Pro-Heroes, Voltro and Lady Mare.
She is usually seen with her best friend, Anna Williams, whom she has been closed with since their days of middle school.
- She gets along well with Momo Yaoyorozu, Kyoka Jiro and Tsuyu Asui. In chapter 167, it is revealed that Yasu and Inasa have gone to the same elementary and were even classmates.
- Her surname "Afuru" means "to flood, overflow, brim over," written as 感, from kan meaning "feeling, emotion, sensation," and 洸, from 洸洸 (kōkō) meaning "surge (of water), valiant, brave."
- Her hero name "Canary" relates of Jane Canary, or Calamity Jane. However, according to Yasu, she picks it in order to honor the childhood nickname called by her parents, Duckling.
- She and Anna share the same costume designer, Reo Utsusu.
- She is the disciple of the Witch of the Lake and acts as a clerric to the party in the Fantasy AU.
Yasu grows up surrounded by the sympathy of those around her, being the sole daughter of the late Pro-Heroes couple, Voltro and Lady Mare. Despite her normally reserved and mature impression, she harbors a frustrated and passionate outlook and takes her goal to continue the legacy left by her parents very seriously.
After the death of her parents, Yasu moved away from Yamanashi Prefecture to live with her guardians, Tomio and Chiase.
