pERSONALITY

❖ Zen has a very calm yet rigorous demeanor

❖ He's decisive, patient and a very tolerant person

❖ He's rather pedantic and skeptical in regards of information exchange with other people.

❖ He is also quite strict with his lessons towards his children despite all of them being girls. He's fully aware that he's not particularly a perfect father, but he does consider their well-being very much so and tries his best to communicate.

❖ Since he's mostly seen as a serious person, he tries pull out some jokes whenever just to lighten up the mood towards him. Which often can be a..  good thing or a bad thing, they do often come of as off-handed remarks, although not intentional.

Background 

story

❖   Back when Zen was a young lad, he once heard of a rumor that was circulating amongst the maids in the manor " Hey, did you know about that church in the outskirts of [redacted]? They were saying that they have the power to create miracles and whatnot.. But honestly it sounds-" Hearing this rumor fascinated the 13 year old boy, reckless as it maybe, the thought that there's actually a way to somehow cure her little sister's illness gave him hope. With that assumption, Zen elaborated a planned to travel secretly and convincing her sister to come along with him as well, as it's directly involved with her. Both were such naïve children.

   They went into the church without knowing that it was apparently a cult that experiments on the people who asks to be healed. Some people were able to returned, yes, but a huge amount of them didn't and was never heard of. When Zen found out about this information, he desperately tried to search and rescue his sister but everything was for naught. Her whereabouts were nowhere to be found nor whether she has already turned into a monster and succumb to death were unknown. Because of that very incident, he was banished away by his family. Although, it was a rather harsh punishment for a young adolescent, the father just couldn't let it slide when his only daughter got killed due to his son's irresponsibility. Zen is painfully aware of his grave mistake and feels utterly guilty for it. He thought that he rightfully deserves the condemnation his family have towards him. He couldn't say anything back as a result. A decision has already been made by his father, so he felt there's no point on making excuses. He followed his father's demands and left the house promptly.  

   Since this day, he has had a hard time trusting people and has became rather cautious, observing his surroundings more thoroughly. He decided to travel around other Kingdoms and not go back into Verdante. He met Freyja at the Kingdom of Solerios and stayed with her for a long while, until a conflict was brought upon the kingdom they were residing in and concluded to go back to Verdante with Freyja.

Trivia 

❖ He would often read newspapers in the morning, walks around the town to talk to town folks on the afternoon and patrols from place to place at night, it's his way of gathering information.
❖ He is actually not embarrassed by his uneven bangs and lock of hair that stands up in the middle of the chaos.
❖ Handling scissors and his hair are not his strong points despite being meticulous and actually being great at the sword.
❖ He teaches his daughters swordsmanship and techniques to defend themselves, so they could use them in the case of danger arising.
