Archer Clark

Personality: Excitable, curious, sometimes a little reckless, forgiving, willing to try anything once, charismatic

Likes: Learning about new cultures, getting tipsy, waking up early, working out (especially mountain climbing), meeting new people with fresh perspectives, painting with watercolor or gouache, tall and pretty ladies named Lydia

Dislikes: Feeling trapped or put in a box, fluorescent/neon lights, being bored, monotony

Archer sees himself as an artist, a creative type, as well as a rebel. In his youth he took pride in spending his time making art (chiefly landscape paintings of scenes on other planets) instead of working a "governmentally recommended job for community benefit." (Khione is a very geographically isolated settlement, in a very harsh landscape, with a population of barely 3,000, so it is genuinely important and heavily pushed for those who have the ability to help keep things running to pitch in.)  

Archer suffered a traumatic brain injury at 26 from being hit on the head by large rocks while trapped inside of a collapsing cave. He was in a coma for about a month and a half, and for the next couple of years was unable to do a lot of speaking or walking. While he has recovered considerably from the state he was in immediately after the event, he still has narcolepsy, coordination loss/dizzy spells, aphasia, and infrequent bouts of short-term memory loss, generally fluctuating between "good days" and "bad days." Because of this he is unemployed on disability and occupies his time with drawing and doing odd jobs around the neighborhood.

Archer is deeply infatuated with a stranger named Lydia Walker, who is staying with the Clark twins after apparently escaping some immediate threat on the closest inhabited planet to Archer's own, Hel. Lydia seems initially uninterested in Archer, so it takes a while before they actually start going out.
