ASCENTSY is an unofficial, fan made ALTERNATE UNIVERSE.
Encke was trained for an unusual mission- to explore the universe beyond Valr, to potentially find a habitable planet away from the influences of Cyphers. Encke was the only survivor of their crew- though survivor is not the best word for the grem who was devoured by stars and reborn a cypherus.
After drifting through space for years, they finally found their way home by following signals from the Ascentsy station. The news they brought back was bleak-- there was no refuge for them beyond Valr, and in the depths of space the influence of Cyphers was unmistakably rampant.
Despite having been turned into a cypherus, Encke remains apparently loyal to the cause of Ascentsy, and continues to work in the station. They drift about the satellite like a ghost, fawning over the grems deployed like little meteorites to the body of Valr below.
Ascendant was an astronaut stationed alone on a Palleth satellite to collect data- but their mission was sabotaged and they died on re-entry to Palleth's atmosphere. When they awoke from death, they could feel the light of stars in their bones and play the static of the comms at their fingertips.
"Do not underestimate the vast expanse of a heavenly body- the dust in your little bones, the microcosmic dance of life in your primordial gut, the song of stars which pings between neurons in your gray matter like radio static."

Encke is frequently threatened by the vastness of space and the loneliness of existence- this makes it easily attached to other lifeforms, and it frequently takes ownership of the survival of those lives.
It expresses frequent concern, meddling in the affairs of others, but can be quite untrusting of others in return-- being a cypherus grem, Encke does not expect others to remain loyal to it.
