Ninetta

Ninetta was born very sick and weak. Living in a tiny remote village deep in the mountains of the frozen Lupaux planet: Tuntur, they didn't have an impressive amount of resources at their disposal. Her parents however did happen to be the doctors of the town, and despite their better judgment, spent a majority of their town's medical resources trying to nurse Nina to health. Much to their relief, she lived, however she never quite grew to full health. The fatigue from her illness never faded, leaving her consistently exhausted and unable to do chores for long before she was about to collapse. She also tended to get sick much easier than others. She spent a significant amount of time in bed, either sleeping or writing. She liked scrap-booking and writing poems and small stories. She never believed herself to be very good at any of it, but It was something that kept her feeling some form of productive on days where she especially struggled to help with chores or even get out of bed.

Along with her fatigue syndrome, she also never quite grew into a full grown Lupaux. She was a good head or more shorter than even the smallest member of their village, and incredibly scrawny to boot. Lupaux are a working people, they cut their own firewood and built their own homes. Nina stuck out sorely when she left the house, being a tiny spindly thing who couldn't even lift an axe. But no one was unkind to her. In fact, some said she looked similar to her uncle before he disappeared, and he had just been a bookworm rather than a worker.

All in all, Nina was taken care of, and she was thankful for the fact.

However it did not last forever. Despite the remote location, somehow pirates were made aware of their village, and being so distant from any other groups of Lupaux, and being such a small town, they were quickly overwhelmed and captured. Apparently due to their shape-shifting powers and increased strength, Lupaux made excellent labor slaves, and sold for a high price for that function. It didn't take long for her friends and family to be sold off, some not without fights, but it all ended the same. In the end she was the only one left, no one had been interested in the scrawny sickly thing. They had even tried to get her to transform once, and while she was able to for a brief moment, but it was seconds before she reverted back to normal and collapsed, completely spent. Deciding she obviously wouldn't be good for labor, they were considering other options, when their karma finally caught up with them and they were raided.

The head of the raid operation on the pirates ended up being a gorgeous dragoness, who upon encountering the sickly dirty wolf girl, quickly took her into her own possession. Nina would have protested another strange creature taking her hostage, but having been mistreated and pushed to the extent that she had developed a fever at this point, she couldn't have struggled if she wanted to. The dragoness with the stoic and almost frightening demeanor, Anastacia, took to poor Nina, and insisted that she would be the one to care for the sick girl. Thus began Nina's new life of learning to trust again after losing everything she had.
