Sean D. Casey owns a recording studio in Los Angeles during the 1970's. Everyone calls him Casey, only close friends and family call him Sean. He dreams of becoming a big shot manager for an up-and-coming rock star. Until then, he rents out his space for musicians to "make some magic". He's extremely passionate about music and has a few strong connections within the industry.

About

In public, Casey is a laid-back man who simply enjoys all things music. He's rather reserved, preferring to keep personal details and life stories to himself. It takes special kind of person to get him to really open up. That being said, he's a wonderful listener. If you sat down to tell him your life story, he'd hang onto every word. He's rather awkward, unfortunately, due to spending most of his developing years perusing the aisles in record stores. He has a difficult time picking up social ques and often finds himself inappropriately reacting to things as a result. Whether that be underreacting to important news or making a fool of himself. He can catch on pretty quickly after the fact and manages to save face...most of the time. Socalizing certainly isn't his strong suit, but he enjoys meeting new people regardless. He forms strong bonds with people very quickly and is able to maintain connection with them. However, outside of his work, he doesn't have many close friends. Thought he won't admit it himself, he's moral philosphy aligns very closely with the free-spirited hippies of the time, though the Flower Power movement was starting to die out. He still holds the "live and let live" and anti-capitalist ideology close to his heart.

Appearance

He's fair skinned and an oval-shaped face. Honey blonde hair oftens falls in his face, giving him a shaggy sort of distinguished look. His steel blue eyes are quite round and ever-so-slightly upturned, graced with full, long lashes. He has a rather full upper lip and a snub nose. Squared and subtly arched deep brown eyebrows settle most often into a friendly and open expression.

More often than not he's drawn to neutral tones, favoring crisp whites, tans, and blacks in his wardorbe. At work, he's almost always wearing a turtleneck under his suit jacket. Though on his off days, you'll find him in loose-fitting paisley shirts tucked into his corderouy pants. It's quite rare to see him without bell bottom pants; he favors business casual over the suffocating, strictly business, suit and tie.

Augustus Boyde A spunky, creative soul. He’s a very talented musician who blew through the studio doors and left a lasting impression on Casey. Together, they’re working to build Auggie’s rockstar career into something spectacular.

Backstory

Sean Douglas Casey was born in Reno, Nevada to Angelica Hernandez and Michael Douglas Casey. His father was an accountant at a local law firm and his mother was a home economics teacher at the high school Casey would later attend. He had a pretty steady and loving childhood, although his father used to tease him about how shy he seemed to be. His mother, nervous that he would become a social recluse, urged him to make friends with some of the other kids in his class, and would often set up playdates with her collegues’ children. He had no trouble speaking with his peers and would often help them with their schoolwork, but he never formed any deep connections. It was in middle school, when his father acquired a shiny new record player, that he discovered a strong appreciation for music. Casey would often beg his father to let him visit the record shop and would spend hours perusing the aisles. He spent most of his allowance there, and made friends with the owners and employees of the shop. As soon as he was old enough, he got a part-time job stocking shelves and helping customers discover new music. With every paycheck, he would set aside a little bit for a record shop of his own someday.

When Casey graduated high school, his parents offered to help him pay for college, and in the fall summer of 1964, Casey packed his bags and headed for Los Angeles to attend the University of California. He became a business major and studied diligently. He caught onto the concepts presented to him fairly quickly. While he wasn’t exactly a 4.0 student, he held his own and studied diligently. However, well into his second year, he was starting to become frustrated by how harsh and destructive the business world was. He wanted to make music for music’s sake, not for a quick cash grab! He developed a silent resentment for his money-hungry classmates and refused to play into their capitalist ways. He decided not to sign up for any spring term classes...or any classes after for that matter. Casey set about founding the Triumph Recording Studio, a place where musicians could create works of art. He charged only as much as he needed in order to pay the rent for the building and made a modest living off the studio. It was the low costs of renting out his space that attracted many up-and-coming musicians hoping to get somewhere in the world, and in turn Casey made many connections with the music world.
