Nexus
WARNING: Nexus's story includes touchy subjects like death, abuse, trauma, drug use, and cults.
Nexus travels around the world without a permanent home using his charming powers of fate to make anyone who he comes across starstruck with him. He can be perceived as a selfish asshole, though while he is a cocky jerk, he's actually dedicated his life to trying to save people from the people who caused him terrible trauma: the Gods.
When Nexus's parents died due to the Gods meddling with fate, those Gods gave him the power to change fate and that it was now his job to correct instances where an person's incorrect path led to their death. However, when Nexus got his powers (mostly) taken away, he realized how terribly he had been treated. He then dedicated the rest of his life to using what was left of his fate-changing to charm as many people as possible and trying to get his powers back, so he could use 'fate' to get rid of the gods. However, he is also cocky, mischevious, and otherwise selfish, so he had made plenty of enemies. He also has a boyfriend that runs an odd cult named Veles.

Personality
Nexus embodies a lot of the opposite of who I am, though he also has a sense of righteousness and passion that makes him a very good and fun character for me. He's a sona because he lets me be who I'm not.
Nexus is cocky but charismatic. He's completely self-assured out of spite because he tells himself that it is exactly what the Gods wouldn't want from him. He likes to surround himself with yes-men and praise, however, and is almost always seen with a crowd of starstruck people ogling him. He's quite blunt and rude since people generally don't comment on it, and he often just takes what he wants. He'll go up to a counter at a fast-food restaurant or a convenience store and tell them he wants something and he won't pay for it, and generally, people let him. He also enjoys putting on a show! He makes music, does magic tricks, or just generally talks about himself to people on the street. You'll pretty much only find this guy in large crowds. He's generally a happy, confident person, too, unless things don't go his way. Then, he'll become petty and irritated whenever he's around you.
Despite his attitude, though, he cares about people. He dropped the opportunity to have a normal life to instead travel the world trying to save everyone from the gods' tyranny. Nexus often gets frustrated with naysayers because despite his overconfident demeanor, he's spent his entire life doing the world a favor, and thinks that should give him fair treatment. Underneath all of the attitude is a man who got taught that he should help people live even at the cost of his own life.
Skills
Starstruck
Nexus was given the power to change fate by the gods. b=Beyond saving people from life-or-death situations that they weren't supposed to be in, he also used this power to convince people to give him food or supplies since he didn't have the means to get them himself. When the gods stripped him of his powers, he managed to hold onto a fragment of this power that allowed him to do the same thing. He calls it 'Starstruck' because of how their pupils turn to stars when he uses it. It allows Nexus to change the thoughts in peoples' heads and hypnotize them into doing what he wants. He can touch people and shock them, look people in the eyes, or enchant other objects to do so. Even when their eyes turn back to normal, Nexus can keep a small bit of his magic in them that he can reignite with enough effort later on.
Early Life
Nexus was born in 1985 as a single child in a nice suburban life with his parents Kiara and Neptune Baxter. Neither of them had many friends; Kiara had some friends from work as a therapist and Neptune had his colleagues from being an astronomy teacher, but they weren't really close to anyone in particular. In general, it was just the three of them, and it was a treat when they got to go out to events. One night, when Nexus was 11 years old, the three were driving back from a work party her mom was invited to that was an hour and a half away. It was late and everyone was tired, but when they were driving over a bridge going over a ditch, his mom saw something on the road: many deer silhouettes, all running right across it. Without thinking, she swerved to avoid them and broke through the guard rails, nosediving into the deep ditch below.
Nexus climbed out of the carnage once his senses came to, though his vision was blurry and his ears were ringing. However, despite the fiery, terrible mess around him, he seemed entirely unharmed. Instead, he was glowing a vibrant blue with electricity that surged through him, and his eyes now had golden stars in them. That wasn't the most fascinating thing about his situation, though. Right outside of the burning crash site was an odd, glowing silhouette that didn't get any clearer the more Nexus approached. The figure told him that what happened here wasn't supposed to happen; that his parents died in a crash because a magical force put them in a place their fate didn't say they should be in. They told him that he was saved by being given the power to change fate. And now, it was his duty as a demigod to go around the world helping others in the same way and putting peoples' fates back on track.
Life as a Demigod
The prospect sounded noble and exciting, but it didn't turn out that way in practice. The gods refused to let him interact with other people in a meaningful way or do things that distracted him from his task. They told him that he was no longer supposed to be here, and that interacting with others would consequently change their fates. He went to go live in an orphanage since his parents were dead and he had no one else willing to take care of them. But when he tried to help the other kids there, the gods burnt it down to teach him that that wasn't his job; his job was simply to correct peoples' fates, not improve their lives. So instead, he lived on the streets. He would go into shops and use his power under the gods' noses to get food and drink, or he would go up to families and ask them if he could stay the night with them. His job, however, was the worst part of it all. He would have to stand in front of loaded guns or run into burning buildings to get to the person who was about to die unfairly. It was incredibly stressful for him, and he wasn't even allowed a break.
When the gods saw that he needed food and shelter, they simply forced him into a small room in the Elysium; the place where all gods resided; with a portal on his floor that allowed him to take him to whoever needed their fate corrected. But then he would have to go right back, without talking to anyone, and Nexus found that even more miserable. He begged the gods to let him out, and after a year, he was. But at that point, he felt much more jaded. He continued to do his job, but he felt desperate for some kind of friend or interaction. However, he continued, even as the gods yelled at him for every little thing he did, because he simply felt like it was his job. By the time he was 18, he would sometimes wander into parties that caught his eye and end up crying on the porch drunk while a frat boy consoled him. They would tell him he needed to rebel and do something for himself, and finally, he agreed. His method of rebelling was to change peoples' fates at the movie theater to give him the tickets instead of them. He thought it was incredibly tame, but apparently, the gods thought otherwise.
One night, the gods approached him in an empty park. They told him he was breaking too many rules; that it was a privilege to have his powers and he wasn't respecting that, so he wasn't worthy of being a demigod. Nexus panicked. He begged them to let him keep being one, since it was the only way he could keep surviving. His powers were the only thing he had left. But the gods weren't going to budge. They stripped him of every bit of his magic despite Nexus trying to hard to take it back, and then they disappeared. Nexus was broken and lost. On the brink of tears, he headed to the movie theater, forgetting that he still didn't have his powers and couldn't get a ticket. But when he dejectedly admitted he didn't have the money for it, the ticket lady told him he could have it for free. Nexus, shocked, looked back at her. Her eyes were still stars! He dropped the ticket and rushed into the bathroom to look at himself in the mirror. His eyes still had stars in them, too. Nexus had actually managed to keep a piece of the magic that was taken from him. He rushed back outside, crying now, and begged someone sitting outside to listen to him vent. They agreed, with the help of his magic, but when he vented about having nothing left; no family, no friends, no money, and practically no magic; they told him that god had a plan for everyone.
The gods? The gods didn't have a plan for him! They didn't do shit anymore; the magic that the gods made was fucking up everyones' plan, and after ruining his whole life, they made him do the dirty work! The gods weren't kind and respectable, they tortured him so that they could sit on their asses all day and avoid the mess they've made! Now he was left with nothing. No, almost nothing. he still had what he managed to keep from the gods' grasp. If he could figure out a way to get the full strength of his magic back, he could convince everyone in the world to get rid of the gods and change their fates, so that the world would end up with no gods at all. They left him with absolutely nothing, but he could make himself something.
Current Life
So, that's exactly what he did. He didn't choose to get a job and a place to live. He continued to walk around the world and enchant people into adoring him so he could get free stuff, but he had a different goal. He was enchanting as many people as he possibly could to perform a ritual that could let him into the Elysium and change the gods' fates. He slowly began regaining his confidence and honing his sliver of magic into something genuinely powerful. When someone would shout at him for taking advantage of people, he would shout back, refusing to shy away from someone and hurt himself in the process. And soon, he was not only confident, but an incredibly charismatic egotist.
He would steal stages, literally, and put on comedy acts or music shows that would draw in massive crowds. And then, he would enchant the microphone or speakers so that everyone who heard what went into it or came out of it would be starstruck. He met a boyfriend named Veles who ran a cult and advertised himself as a 'better' god than the terrible gods that were out there. He travelled wherever he could, enchanting whatever and whoever he could, so that eventually, he would have enough people under his control to enact his plan. But he still has one part of the plan not figured out, which is another reason why he wants to meet as many people as possible. He still needs his old powers returned to him: the power to change fate.
Trivia
He carries nothing with him on an average day except a single key.
When he does carry something, it's massive speakers, but he's strong enough to carry them easily.
Nexus loves his bow and will get furious if you try to take it. His silver sequin suit, not so much.
Every day, he steals travel shampoo from a convenience store and showers at a public gym.
He's been a DJ, a comedian, a street magician, and just a loud talker to get pedestrians' attention.
He has zero clue how to use any modern technology and acts like a grumpy old man whenever he needs to.
