Laz is the Lapis half of Malachi. He is rather mysterious and secretive with what he does, but he opened up to Jazz and the two of them became very close. He is an Era 2 Lapis, allowing for the golden flakes in his gem. He tends to be very quiet.

Jazz is the Jasper half of Malachi. Though she was meant to be a rough, tough soldier, Jazz prefers knowledge. She likes to read books, both fiction and nonfiction. She isn't really keen to fighting, but she has the ability to fight if she really wants or needs to. Jazz is an Era 2 Jasper; a tad bit smaller than average.
