A boy, taught by an eccentric swordsmith and sent out into the world. Kou doesn't know much of the world outside his distant hometown- he misses his friends and family dearly. But he is looking forward to learning about everything and making friends.

Kou is a very friendly guy, bordering on being a pushover. He is no leader, as he tends to follow the ebbs and flows of others, without his master guiding him. If left to his own devices, he'll just do what he wants, which is a whole lot of nothing. He doesn't often become mad- no one knows what happens when he does.

Kou hates horses, demons, and pickled plums. He likes katsu.
