Backstory

TW: None.

「 Born in Coddwig, Asra was the second to last child of a family of 6. He had an average childhood, eventually moving back to his parent's homeland, Bahrum, when he was 12. The place wasn't as welcoming as the green land but he didn't mind. In their little village, the family quickly fit in with the other craftspeople, though the boy kept to himself most of his worries.

Asra eventually joined a fishing ship for the first time when he was 16, alongside his father. They were on the ocean for a year before coming back home. Everything had gone well and the kid learned quite a bit from the job.
And so, he kept on going back to the sea and resting on the docks on land. He got quickly used to the routine, refining his senses and maturing away from home, though of course, he always sent letter on a regular basis.

One night in an seamen's inn, he took the time to sit at an old man's table and play cards with him for a few hours. Being 22 at the time, he was in a really good shape, attentive to every move around. This habit seemed to make the other man curious, and as the sun came back up in the sky, the two were still talking. About nothing in particular, but it had seemed to be some kind of test. A test that Asra had passed, apparently. The old man squeezed his shoulder gently and told him to meet him if he still seemed so interested in serving the Sultan Rahim. Where though, it was the kid's job to find.

And so his training began. For it to work, he had to say goodbye to the ocean. It took a few years of intense work until he was let on his first mission, around age 28, but it went well and Asra was now working for the royal family, though only the Sultan and his wife were aware about it. His own family thought that he simply was retreating for a bit, maybe looking to settle down with someone. But no one arrived. They shrugged it off, saying that the runt of the litter was just doing his thing.

The work was hard and tiring, dangerous, but it pleased Asra to no-end when he knew that he had managed to help getting rid of a few criminals or keeping the young Prince safe from harm's way. There had been a few bumps on the road, of course, and the night where he was caught and tortured in hopes to take informations out of him was one of them. Thankfully, a distraction led by other agents enabled him to run away, not after gaining a few scars and losing an ear in the process.
One year later, he lost his hearing during a battle on the ocean. The sound of cannons and bullets eventually becoming too much. He, however, still could work under the Sultan's orders.

Age 34, the throne was overtaken, despite his own efforts to find where the revolution would come from. It was too late. The entire royal family was dead. Feeling remorse for his final failure, he went back to the sea. 」
