Pronouns: Mostly uses she/her, but has no preference. 

(Important note: Rune's gender identity is kinda complicated because in my childhood I had to hide my LGBT+ characters because my family is very non-accepting :'( In the past, I mostly referred to Rune using she/her, but occasionally would use he/him. Now, my best explanation is that Rune is non-binary but they don't really care what gender people see them as. As a result, most characters will use she/her pronouns to refer to Rune, because their particular fantasy society isn't familiar with non-binary identities. That is why they/she/he pronouns are all fine for Rune)

Sexuality: Demisexual

Race: Human

Appearance: About 5'6", feminine features, black hair that she always has tied up in a loose bun (except when sleeping), grey eyes. She's actually pretty dang muscular but doesn't like showing skin and always dresses in typically male clothing - more for practical reasons than aesthetic, she has to be able to fight and women's clothing in her kingdom is not great for motion. Color scheme: purples, grey, black, light blue, sometimes red.

Personality: Very much lawfully-aligned, can be kind of cold. Generally even-tempered and calm, but can get very protective of people she likes or feels responsible for, and she can get offended easily if she feels insulted/looked down on. Withdrawn, and likes to keep up appearances. Inwardly very awkward and earnest, but she tries to maintain an image of wisdom and discipline.

Other info: 

-Rune has a much higher magical ability than most humans, especially from the aristocratic families. Her "natural magic" manifests itself in the form of a cloud of glass-like shards that she can move around freely.

-She has a few battle scars (one in her side and a few on her left shoulder and arm), but has managed to avoid major injuries.

Bio:

Rune is the second child of the Edevane family, one of the 12 ruling families under the monarchy in her kingdom. Her brother was trained to become a knight and inherit the family's land and position, but their father also trained Rune in basic combat skills. Their father died in the ongoing war against the neighboring kingdom, and unfortunately her older brother died soon after on a hunting trip. Since lordship was typically handed from father to son and there was no other male heir, the king wanted to delegate the Edevane's territory to another lord's rule. Rune demanded to be trained as a knight as well, insisting that she was just as capable of inheriting position. After she successfully held her ground against the current squires, she was allowed to train alongside them and eventually proved herself worthy of knighthood. A lot of the family's former soldiers didn't want to serve under her, and the household lost much of its power and influence, but Rune was able to keep her family's position. She still gets a lot of crap about being the only "female" knight.
