Avelaine is the granddaughter of the infamous Avant Comtois, known in his time for leading the rebel faction Wings of Latitude. He had usurped the organisation from his ancient ancestral rivals, the Draconias, and became a prominent global power. Or, that is how it was supposed to happen. Other people had other ideas, and made plans to retroactively undo the events leading to Avant’s rise to power. Whether or not they were successful... is unknown. It doesn’t matter in this ethereal space, anyway. The Comtois line has always had a strong focus on legacy. Avenall, Avant’s son, was raised with the highest possible expectations. His entire life was dedicated to his contributions to his bloodline, against his volition. Eventually, he caved under the pressure of never being able to match his father, and he became despondent, retreating to the accepting arms of alcoholism. Until his death, he never made anything of his life. His abdication of responsibility was also responsible for the birth of his daughter, Avelaine. By all standards, she’s an ordinary girl. Even with the Comtois name, being raised alone by her mother meant she could live a fairly ordinary life, the will of her father providing for her throughout her life sufficiently. She has heard the tales of grandeur surrounding her grandfather, but her father is a stark contrast of the Comtois title, and so she denounces its status entirely despite still proudly bearing the name. She now strives to repair the damage her bloodline has caused, in her own small way. Befriending those who the Comtois found themselves in opposition with is a good start. Avelaine Comtois is a young girl in her early twenties. She stands at a reasonable 5'8”, wearing an old fashioned beige summer dress with puffy sleeves a straw hat. Her shoulder length hair is a light brown, and on the lapel of her dress is the same insignia that her grandfather carried. In stark contrast to the cold intelligence of Avant, Avelaine's features are much softer, usually a small but cute smile worn between her rosy cheeks. Her eyes are a familiar hazel colour, and she wears dark brown sandals that compliment the rest of the ensemble. Overall, she gives the impression of someone raised to be a little old-fashioned, but she strives to be friendly and casual to all she meets.
