Linnea Lycium
◆ Talkative ◆ Friendly ◆ Expressive ◆ Positive (evades negativity) ◆ Confident ◆ Stubborn ◆ A tease ◆ Easily distracted ◆ Spoiled ◆ lowkey... single braincell.
Linnea is a believer of being the nosiest person she could possibly be. A young lady who is upbeat, cheerful, and possibly talks a little too much for her own good. She tries to come off as friendly as much as she can to others. A lover of conversations and socializing in order to create long lasting relationships. Similar to that nosy neighbor.. She is a positive soul who has a hard time thinking of the negative. She avoids hard topics, and refuses to dwell on past mistakes. To her the future is much more important! Often mentioning that she does this for her own sake, more-so then the sake of others. She's expressive at heart, her reactions are very honest, and she isn't the type to hold back on them.
She has an air of confidence which goes both ways in terms of good and bad. When someone compliments her she'd agreed right away. Whenever she is doing something or presenting herself in front of others she's confident in how she presents herself and it's easy to tell that she is sort of full of herself. She doesn't hesitate and whole-heartedly believes that when she does something it's the right way. She's stubborn and doesn't budge from any ideas or thoughts that she has. Because she really does believe she's right. It's hard to deal with her when she's like this, but she usually has good intentions. She enjoys seeing various reactions from people, and may come off as flirty occasionally. Enjoying the idea of giving compliments or showering affection onto someone just to see their reactions. She can't help but be a bit teasing in a loving way because of this. However she is all talk, and no bite. Don't take her too seriously.
Due to how upbeat she is, she has a habit of being easily distracted, a one track mind type of girl that goes into dreamland during work if she saw a butterfly past by. Or would stop everything just because she saw a pretty flower (Which she would mention that "it's good to stop and smell the roses" to defend herself...). She acts quite spoiled for a girl her age (it's getting better though!) because of how she was brought up; easily disliking when things don't go her way or what was expected and whining often because of it.

"HOW SILLY, IT'S NOTHING IMPORTANT. YOU SHOULD ONLY CARE FOR THE PRESENT YOU KNOW?"
True to her personality, Linnea lived a rather spoiled, carefree life. The second daughter to a well off (in a close knit starborn village way-) known in their community for their specialty in herbs and botany. Owners of a medical shop who pursued a modernized mentality. The village they lived in seemingly was considered closed-off for years in ancestry but due to her families influence in medicine in their village, and the devastation of the storm. The community opened their doors to anyone in need. That didn't mean it didn't have it's gossip. Although they were welcomed with open arms and assistance, most outsiders stayed and left as soon as the next morning.
It was expected that Linnea's older sister was to take over as her sister was quite well-specialized in herbs and was as good as her parents at treating patients. a graduate to the university of Euphrosyne and member of the MSF. She wasn't particularly close to her older sister. Her sister seemed like an unreachable goal, the first name to be mentioned with the Lycium's were brought up in conversation. Everything Linnea thought she knew her sister probably knew 10x better. It often became a one-sided contest on her part to see who would be the better daughter. They didn't have a poor relationship, most of the awkwardness brought on between the two was Linnea's fault. She acted as an obedient sister in front of her parents, but ended up feeling some form of resentment towards her elder sister. Purposefully acting foul, or irritated in her sisters presence when they were alone. Her eldest sister never treated her differently for that however. Their parents treated them equally, (if anything Linnea was much more spoiled), and her resentment probably formed from the toxic mindset of a young girl growing up thinking that all the attention should be placed on her.
A daughter who enjoyed being spoiled and pleasing her parents to get the attention she wanted, her parent couldn't help but spoil her. Her sister was the opposite however, someone who was meek, and always humble. A quiet beauty who showed a love and passion for everyone aside from herself. Which Linnea resented as the two were polar opposites. Everything Linnea did, she did for herself. Despite how she felt about her sister she did admire her work ethic and how she worked so hard to help others. Her stubbornness rubbed off on her.
"I didn't run, I chose to leave...!"
As time grew their relationship didn't change much. Her sister went away often to perform her MSF duties, and Linnea convinced her parents to let her move onwards as well and attend the University of Euphrosyne in Vallis Sancti. They both moved on with their own lives, and Linnea didn't bother to keep up with appearances for her sister whose popularity in the village grew with each day. Each letter home.
Her time in her university studies was a short-lived one as she had to return home as she suddenly received news that her sister had been injured during a storm related incident. She wasn't horribly injured but it was enough for her to have to take a leave for quite a time. Despite how she felt about her, it was her sister, and she still returned home. when she was able to. There she learned that her sister had gotten engage to a male thunderstruck she had treated and became friends with in their village who fell for her, and she for him. By the time she got home, the village was in cheers and preparations for a big marriage and the fact she had decided to take over the villages medical shop from their parents. Wasn't she supposed to be home because she got hurt? Why was everyone suddenly talking about marriage? Did it even matter that she chose to pursue the same thing her sister did? Those thoughts ran through her head as she slowly made her way to her well loved home.
She never stepped back into her home nor back to the university that day. She ran away. A childish decision at her age, she knew that, but she turned heel and ran back to the nearest station. Exhausted and tired of having to keep up appearances, and trying her best to outclass her sister. She simple just, wanted peace and quiet now. To live for herself instead of pursuing the life her sister lead. So she decided to travel for a couple years, and document her discoveries in a journal. It was nothing special, but it was something she did for herself, and perhaps it would be useful to someone one day. Wherever the world would take her she would go!
A new home..
It was then upon her travels she heard about Gale's End from a lovely auntie whose inn she found herself holed up in for a time, doing odd jobs for some extra traveling money. She learned it was a small town located in the valleys of Gallin Peak. A new start. Someone like her, a spoiled young lady would have difficulty on her own with in a place like that... decided that's were she would go. It was a place filed with the mysterious air she craved. Despite leaving everything initially- part of her still had the same mentality of wanting to help others if she could with what knowledge she had. With the storm looming over everyone's shoulder, she also wanted a safe place that wasn't the current dusty inn she was staying at either. So without a single thought, she finally wrote a letter to her parents, her sister. Telling them she was sorry for leaving, and not to worry, she's possibly found a new place called home, and perhaps this time she'll let them know where so they can exchange letters and talk once again.
After a tearful goodbye and too much luggage, the self-proclaimed 'adventurer' stepped to the nearest train and headed her way to what she hoped was 'home'.
