Stray may be fearful of a lot of things, but whenever he's asked why he just says he's seen a lot of things. And that's certainly true. Stray's an old soul in a world of danger, and he simply prefers to stay on the safe side of life. It's easier that way, simpler, and far less stressful. While he's certainly willing to give an opinion on a topic, it's usually the opinion he knows no one would be bothered by. Yes, he lives a nice, quiet life, and yes, he doesn't need to worry about anything huge, but the path of least resistance can often be a lot of trouble and leave you saying things you don't really believe. ...He figures that's something he needs to get better at. Being himself. But it's going to take some effort - he's certainly not used to it.

He used to be a spy for the Sunglow kingdom, actually, before he 'retired' from the job out of fright. Sneaking around, getting into places unnoticed... these are skills he's kept over the years, even if he doesn't really have a reason to use them. People often tell him it's odd how he can suddenly appear, like he just teleported in. He usually just gives an awkward (nervous?) chuckle, and shrugs. Best they don't know everything.
