Lucifer spent millenia grounded by his father in the cage in Hell. A bizare circumstance allowed him freedom and now, when he had intended on rallying an army and taking over Heaven and Earth, he's more apt to laze around and eat Cinnabon. Perhaps it has something to do with his demon bride not biting the bullet and that pesky Winchester vessel refusing to cooperate. Or maybe he's just getting soft in his old age.
It comes as a surprise to many that Lucifer is not some twisted, evil creature. He is, after all, still an Angel, not a Demon. He is not inherently a cruel or monstrous creature. He simply has his own set of morals and opinions. Yes, many of them involve his awful relationship with his father, but the ones about loathing human beings have simmered over the years. He doesn't anger as easily as one would expect, but when he does, he is prone to smiting the offending parties. Sore subjects are his Father, not having yet acquired his true vessel, and being 'grounded' for millenia.
To most, Lucifer is indifferent and aloof. Mainly, because he doesn't have time for petty squabbles or drama. To many, those he wishes to play with or wants someting from, he is chaming, congenial, and manipulative. To a small, select few, he is caring and thoughtful.
Everyone knows Lucifer's story. At least, every member of the Christian faith, and many others who've been exposed to it. Lucifer was prideful, his personal sin, and could not fathom how his Father could ask the Angels to bow down, to protect and keep safe the human creatures God had created. He wasn't the only Angel that fell, many others stood with him who felth the same way. But God's word is law in Heaven and, to be honest, it's a surprise the whole lot of them weren't smote on sight.
Lucifer and the other Fallen Angels weren't banished to Hell. Not yet. There was no need for Hell as God was only just creating a Heaven on Earth, Eden, He called it. Inside Eden, he created anything His 'man' could want: shady vegetation, plenty of food, warm sun, lush grass to slumber in. God created man from the Earth and from the dirt, as an afterthought, created woman.
There were two 'Eves' before Eve herself, it should be noted. There was the first, was Lilth, who was created from the Earth as Adam was. Lilth felt she was on level ground as Adam and quickly learned that Adam had a head about him and wouldn't submit to his female counterpart. Lilth left the Garden shortly after, owing her departure to Lucifer himself. After Lilth, God created a woman from all the things a human body posseses, muscus, blood, fluids, flesh, muscle, and bone. Adam was disgusted by this second, unnamed female and there is no record of what happened to her after Adam rejected her. Then, came Eve, created from Adam's rib and didn't question her place next to him or under him.
After Lilith left the Garden, Lucifer took his time pestering Adam and Eve. It wasn't really his intent to bring about the fall of mankind, though he does look back with great humor that he did. He just wanted to see how far they could be manipulated, how much he could get away with, and how gullible this 'human race' was. Turns out, they weren't difficult to manipulate and it's still entertaining to him that he, as a serpent, convinced Eve to eat from the Tree of Knowledge.
Shockingly, even having a hand in the ruin of Eden didn't get Lucifer struck down. He certianly wasn't aiming to have that happen, of course, but it was a thought in the back of his mind. Once Adam and Eve were banished from the Garden, they set off on their own to procreate and their children began villages, town, cities. As civilization evolved, Lucifer spent his time both indulging in all the new experiences available to a Fallen Angel, as well as courting - in a way - the first woman, Lilith.
Lucifer's 'courting' of Lilith was equal parts sweet and twisted. It was the catalyst for the creation of Hell and Lucifer's imprisonment in the cage. Maybe he had intended to create a Demon, maybe he hadn't. Either way, it was the most literal example of 'the road to Hell was paved with good intentions'.
Unfortunately for Lucifer, it was the final straw for his Father and since there was now a Demon (and likely more to be created, there only needs to be one to start a line), there needed to be a place to send them and, of course, Lucifer himself. This caused Lucifer to be shut away and Lilith to be left wondering where her new creator had gone.
Centuries passed, life moved on as normal topside, and Hell flourished as sinners were sent downstairs and Lucifer did what he could to rule things from his box. Lucifer appointed a Demon named Azazel to keep things in order. Sure, he ruled with a bit of an iron fist, but things were in order and Lucifer didn't need to worry much. Everything was being put in place to pop him from the box and he could sit back and wait for a few decades if need be.
Time passed and before he knew it, he was walking around topside. He was thankful to hear that all the Seals didn't need to be broken for him to be released from the cage. This is because the final seal was intended to be his old flame, Lilith.
Now, Lucifer is biding his time before he can claim his true vessel. He needs consent, which is awfully hard to get from this particular person. In the mean time, he's enjoying his freedom, which consists of eating too many Cinnabons and playing 'catch up' with Lilith.
SUPERNATURAL Basically a pain in everyone's ass.
SPN-AU Out of the box early, thanks to Ruby. Luci spends much of his time planning his world domination, brooding about his father and brother, having hot, scary sex with Lilith, and trying to woo his vessel. He has an affinity for Cinnabons and other cinnamon sweets.
HELL HIGH Basically Luci, but stuck as a teenager and in high school. Dated Eve for awhile, until she went kind of crazy and he fled from that hot mess. Currently interested in Eve's sister, Lilith. Lives with his brother, Gabriel. Doesn't get along with his father or brother, Michael. Is a pretty cool dude, really.
