Personality Traits

• Adores gold and jewels but not as much as turning against the people he trusts in order to gain these.
• Finds enjoyment in the embarrassment of others.
• Figdety; often shifts on his feet to and frow for many reasons but usually due to anxiousness, awkwardness and feeling as if he should do something with his body other than sit/stand still.
• Socially awkward; feels uncomfortable in most social settings and often produces feelings of anxiety for him. Has a hard time keeping conversations going and if you aren't a especially talkative person awkward silences are common. When trying to start a conversation he'll sometimes blurt something out he had in mind that he wanted to talk to them about but his tone of voices raises in volume as if surprised, or actually surprised depending on the situation he finds himself in. Finds himself mumbling and pausing in the middle of conversations, second guessing or thinking over his words for too long causing awkward silences.
• Struggles to trust the words of others, a mixture of people in his past and looking at himself is the cause.
• Tends to asses new relationships in terms of profit and loss; if he doesn't see apparent profit he'll most likely not want to interact unless it's needed in the situation. 
• Has chosen gold over strangers and enemies in the past and while he doesn't regret this he doesn't find enjoyment in this either.

Backstory

Raised by his mother(Hama) in a lower class area, never met his father and whenever he asked about him his mother would get snappish before telling him to go to his room....or leave her alone. Staach was often dressed in a way that would hide his appearance....bandanas around his face, goggles, gloves, long sleeve shirts and pants with too big shoes. This was due to the area he lived in was suspicious of genasi's and was loud about their dislike of the race when they saw any, including infants and children. The first time someone saw him with skin showing they became aggressive and seeing this Staach ran away from him, this someone luckily was a middle aged man who was not in shape and he easily outran him.

His mother worked but was unable to make enough for shelter and food, she would steal gold as well as food. Around the age of 6 his mother taught him how to properly steal from others and how his small size was a advantage in this, he remembers the first (and only) time his mother saying she was proud of him was after he had successfully stolen food for them. This was around the time his mother started using him as a distraction -showing his face and sometimes arms- so she could steal in bigger quantities while the people were distracted by the genasi that suddenly appeared. Whenever he was used as a distraction he often ended up dirty and bruised, occasionally to the point of having a limp. He started looking forward to becoming a distraction because his mother paid more attention to him when he did this, even if it was only to clean up his injuries. Whenever he stole something for his mother or for them he quietly hoped she would say she was proud of him again but quickly figured out she wasn't going to say it again.

Relationships

Hama | Mother | Cut contact with his mother when he turned 16, his mother growing up was distant and never told him she loved him. He feels confused about how he feels about his mother.

___ | Father | Has never been in contact with him.

___ | Acquaintance | Saved Staach from a rough spot and owes him, cannot pay him back in gold or jewels. Says he'll found him when he wants to collect or Staach will find him.

• A faint but constant breeze accompanies him, tousling his hair and stirring his clothes.
• Crystals grow from the front of his scalp.
• Father is a genie and Mother is a human.
• Often wears black and white; fond of the pirate aesthetic.
• The crystals on his scalp has broken off before and he has sold them but he doesn't purposely brake them off as that hurts.
• •Expierces chronic pain on and off in his left knee and general legs- has injured it multiple times growing up without caring for the injuries. Good at ignoring the pain.
