About

A short-tempered and rebellious fire dragon attempting—somewhat—to live a peaceful, domestic life. After hundreds of years spent in rampaging destruction, with too many enemies to count, and a near constant urge to make more, one can only wonder how it'll go, but with the help of a persistent crush and a great love for cooking, things haven't been all too bad.

His life began on earth, in a small village of dragons hidden away in the mountains of China. His parents having mysteriously disappeared at a young age, he was left to be raised by his scattered and forgetful, but loving uncle. It was a peaceful, but isolated life, that he only learned of the purpose for several years later than intended. Spending the mornings being trained to make use of his abilities as a dragon, while playing cheerfully outside near the passing creek from the afternoon till evening, confused as to why they all had to stay hidden as they were, it was inevitable that he would eventually find a way through the barrier that served to conceal them from the world outside.

The day that he first did so was the day that he found his first friend, a human child named Baiyao, who seemed just around his age. She was sweet and friendly, and before long at all, he'd found himself sneaking out to hang out with her nearly every day. She told him of things from beyond his isolated home, all sorts of things that he'd never have learned of on his own. The interest that she showed in his village seemed odd at times, but he never thought to question the motive of it—never considered any reason not to trust her at all, for there truly simply seemed nothing to question of her. He trusted her. Yet the day that he eventually acted upon that trust was a mistake that changed his life forever.

Only the next day after showing Baiyao how to reach his village, returning home from an afternoon spent out—faintly disappointed at his inability to find her this time—he was met with the smell of ashes. With no survivors, everything was gone. And there Baiyao was, standing in the distance next to a black-haired man he hadn't seen before, both looking all too calm. In a mix of shock and devastation, he was left with nothing but a blinding rage. Yet before he could even attempt to retaliate, they had already mysteriously disappeared.

The only reason he and the other dragons had been created was to eventually destory this earth—their easygoing, happy life being only for the sake of the gradual time needed to gather up enough power to do so. At that time, as he was left to wander the harsh and unfamiliar world as only a child with no belongings, family, nor friends, he'd finally begun to understand why someone would desire such a thing to begin with. It didn't take long at all for Misute's hatred to extend far beyond just the two that had collapsed his entire world from beneath him, reaching from the world itself to humanity as a whole, to eventually all those above that had allowed things to be this way.

His adolescence was spent in a reckless fit of destruction, burning away anything that his flames could reach, from buildings to entire villages. He found no joy in harming nature nor ending lives, but it would be difficult to claim that careless consequences had not been occasionally caught in the crossfire as well. Though to most he only did appear as mysteriously effective arsonist, for his identity as a dragon was still one that had to be hidden, eventually did Sozo still make a move to stop the madness, devastated at the idea of someone attempting to burn down his precious earth.

The inexplicable circumstances of said man's mind eventually leaded to Misute becoming recruited into the Immortal Isles, where his catastrophic whims were only loosely leashed, and only when Sozo found out that he was still secretly venturing down to earth just the same was Misute finally removed of the status, restrained of his power, and barred from any transportation between realms entirely. In fact, he was quite literally kicked out, and just so happened to fall onto Michi's roof, where the direction of his life finally began its path to take a genuine turn for the better.

"When the fires have surrounded you, and your sacred stars won't be guiding you, I've got blood on my name."
Personality

One he likes, he will follow loyally to the very ends of the earth itself, while one he dislikes he will swear to bring upon all the wrath and suffering he can bear to muster. To varying extents of course, but Misute is not a fickle nor moderate man. As someone easily attached at heart yet reluctant to trust, he harbors little compromise between each extreme, and does not take kindly at all to any form of betrayal. The moment his trust is broken, there is no repairing it. Don't even bother trying.

Misute would likely not be considered the most friendly individual. He defaults to a mildly hostile approach towards most—bordering domineering and aggressive at times—speaks his thoughts bluntly, and rarely tries at all to see things from other's point of view. Even while he attempts to mellow down his natural hot-headedness at times, it does little to actually prevent his urges to pick fights, whether straightforwardly or with a passive-aggression so blatant that there isn't much of a difference made, depending on the current shortness of his fuse. He craves peace of mind, but in spite of all his many efforts to attain so, it's difficult to entirely make a great deal of progress in that regard when his personality seems to naturally call for anything but.

In contrast to the burning passion of his mind, he prefers to surround himself by a calm and relaxing ambience, with gentle tones of cream and blue, candles, and soft fabrics. Many less overt forms of magic intrigue him, alongside general spirituality and an interest in philosophies that encourage a calm mind. From daily horoscopes, to crystals, herbology, and witchcraft, he can be found indulging in many things of a more subtle and at times even superstitious nature. Only, be careful against considering him a large authority on any of said subjects, as more straightforwardly practical uses aside, he doesn't actually have the greatest understanding of most of it.

Despite all this, he loathes religion, and refuses to involve himself in anything that harbors direct relation to any gods. All the tragedy in his life was the result of their will—both directly and indirectly—what reason would he have to respect beings like that? Don't expect a great deal of open-mindedness in this regard, or many, really.

In addition, he places a large amount of importance on health, to an extent that could be considered unnecessary in consideration of the world he lives in. He enjoys cooking all the healthiest of meals, rising on an early schedule, and a good deal of gardening on the side. Considering the extremely poor habits of his housemate on the other hand, it couldn't be considered the most unwelcome thing to prioritize and encourage at the same time.

Now, in spite of the hearty combination of both his temper and physical prowess, Misute could not be quite regarded as one simply all brawn and no brains. While his academic education itself may be unfortunately greatly lacking, he is not foolish, either, and isn't incapable of listening to the reasonings of his mind when the instantaneous urges of his impulses are held off. He enjoys peace and quiet, and genuinely hopes to attain a better control over his mind. Although... more often than not, his usual inclinations do still get the best of him.

Design

  • His hair is ash blond, with a thin and silky texture to it. He frequently ties the upper half of it in a ponytail, or otherwise into a normal low ponytail when doing things like cooking.
  • His eyes are a bright raspberry color, and he has a relatively tall, fit build.
  • He tends to wear comfortable white clothing, such as sweaters and the occasional hoodie, with often a touch of blue here and there.
  • He can often be seen with a light blue moonstone around his neck, tied with a thin string-like rope.
  • He very seldomly wears shoes.
  • His dragon horns are generally only visible when he's at home (primarily due to his wanted status because of the risk he brings to Yutopia by living there, with him best off not flaunting his dragon nature left and right regardless)
Trivia

  • He was created inspired by a music box version of Dragon Boy from Spirited Away.
  • He often makes use of one of the lesser used types of magic in Yutopia, somewhat resembling witchcraft and stereotypical voodoo. He keeps dolls of both Michi and Sozo that can subtly transfer sensations to them. Sozo for torturing (which unfortunately only results in mild discomfort) and Michi for hugging to sleep.
  • I originally planned him to be a full-out villain, but I got too attached to him, and he somehow ended up with his fairly peaceful life with Michi instead.
  • He has never cut his hair—it just naturally refuses to grow any longer.
  • He's actually very good with children and just about instantly softens up whenever interacting with them.
  • The kind of person who will break rules purely because they exist.
  • Due to Sozo's restrictions on his power, he cannot transform into a full dragon, and is left with only his horns and his wings. His fire is also limited to vastly smaller amounts than he'd been previously capable of.
  • His dragon form is (or was) a mix of sorts between that of a western and Chinese dragon.
  • While his heart is pretty decisively devoted to Michi, he isn't closed to firtation (only as of his pining being one-sided) and will occasionally indulge in casual endeavors with others when the mood hits him.
  • He was my main OC for a while before Caelestis.
  • In regards to the bedroom, he's a power bottom.

Relationships

The two have been living a comfortable life together since Misute moved in several years ago. They both enjoy the other's company, but Misute's feelings being romantic, he's left giving only the occasional hints of interest that Michi never seems to catch onto, in fear of only ruining the relationship that they have.

Two people who absolutely do not get along. There's little that could make their personalitites clash more, frankly, and their rivaling skills in cooking already makes things bad enough, but then both being close with Michi, their unfortunate meetings aren't even something that can be entirely avoided.

Baiyao befriended him during his childhood in hopes of getting the location of his village out of him, and quickly betrayed him once he told her. Any encounter would definitely not go well on either end, especially considering she was also banished from her realm above to roam the earth until Misute is found and rid of.

Misute knows little about this mysterious being who set his life into motion, told of as merely a vague tale by his uncle. While he agrees with the intent behind his and the other dragons' creation, it was never something they had agreed to, either, and he resents Caelestis for tossing them into the mortal world only to be left forgotten and abandoned.
