Jaime's a good lad, I suppose... I'm not much of a people-person but I find his passion for the ocean's life endearin'. He has a fire in his eyes as bright as a sunset on the Surfside Isles whene're he starts yabberin' on about the honu and their lil' flippers n' beaks. Jaime's got a lot of energy to spend an' a proper course to use it on. Atlas would like him, I'd think...
There aren't many who would frequent the shores to maintain a bond with one bound to the sea. Despite his fear o' water, Jaime is one of them. For that alone, I may help further along his journey to knowledge.
When Nori washed up on my beach I was ecstatic! I wanted to know more about him instantly. He's got such cool features that resemble most of what I study! I wonder if he wouldn't mind swimming in the ocean to help me observe some harder to get creatures.
Nausicaä is truly something... doing a lotta good work out there in the tides.
I owe her my life, truly. Never did I think I would ever find myself keeling over in the waters I love. I must never underestimate nature's power, or Nausicaä for that matter.
She's powerful and graceful, with a beauty like a rolling storm. I appreciate every one of our meetings very dearly.
She and I share a great affinity for the ocean, and I want to give her what knowledge I have of it.
Sometimes it's all about being in the right place at the right time. I'm truly thankful I was around when Nori got caught in an old fisherman's net. If only they came with nametags, I'd be sure to... return it to it's original owner. Regardless, it is always a pleasure when we get to meet up and go for a swim. He does so much traveling working for the library, he's sure to have seen some truly beautiful places.
Jinhai is a spirited little youngster. I've taken him under my wing as an apprentice of sorts. He likes to galavant and explore a bit, and takes an interest in knowledge when it comes to appraising his little treasures.
I found it sad how he initially just followed whatever glittered and sparkled, someone had to teach him the value and significance of history. So I took it upon myself to do just that. I just hope the rascal doesn't stick his nose where it doesn't belong. Knowledge is sacred, but the memory and dignity of those who came before perhaps even more so...
Oh, him? That’s my former mentor, Yago! He might just seem like your typical, crotchety old man, but he’s actually an incredibly strong and wise scholar who has seen just about everything there is to see! I could’t get enough of his tales of far away places as a child, and after months of begging he allowed me to leave home and assist him with his duties. It was fun for awhile, but as I grew so did my taste for adventure - I hungered to see so much more of the world than what he was willing to show. This led to many arguments between the two of us until we eventually split ways. While I do miss the days of us traveling together, I don’t regret my decision to leave one bit!
