When Adzel was born, something went wrong. The void in their body didn't quite fit with the rest of it, and so a slow process of rejection began. They have a degenerative condition that causes their shell to slowly crack and break away, and eventually they will die as a result of it. Adzel, when they figured out what was wrong with them, decided to simply live life to the fullest while it lasted.

In their youth, Adzel was somewhat of a fireball. They were adventurous and very engaged with the rest of the world, eager to explore everything they could. They weren't very approachable and never stayed in one place for long, but were quite skilled at fighting and admired by a decent number of bugs. However, as they grew, their body became less and less suited for combat and the various challenges of exploration. So they settled down and found contentment in other things.

Nowadays, Adzel resides in a small cottage. They took up the hobby of music - since they, like other vessels, lack a voice, having another way to express themself is nice. They are much more calm and kind than they were when they were young, and their house stands near a place frequented by adventurers and wanderers so they meet quite a lot of folks.
