About
a spirit that was derived from the remnants of bad fortune and misguided prayers at a little-known buddhist temple. key's original form was that of an abandoned plush bunny that had been left by a younger visitor. their current form is inspired by the toy bunny, but has since grown into sharper features and more a likeness of a cross between human and fox due to the karma surrounding their home.
everyday key waits for their owner to come back for them, but has innately understood that person has likely left them by now, if the appointment's been expired since years past. however, key continues to wait every noon for them, at the outskirts of the temple for half an hour.
there was someone who used to call them marie, fondly, but they believe they have lost that someone in the rain a time ago.

- they are able to shift from spirit to and from corporeal forms
- recently stopped physically aging, tho unaware of this
- they do not possess a shadow, having swallowed it for power during their birth (so when they see rim's, they think a flat dark man is copying and following him)
- while they were made from the gathering of Bad Vibes, it's v little present in their personality, since the love their owner had for them is stronger. however, since these two forces mostly cancel each other out, key's basically a doll in terms of personality, especially since key had no human interaction for the longest time and even rim is a stretch
- non-magicked humans will see a version of key that is more human-like, no ears or tail
- the bells around their neck and ankle ring at a frequency that demon and the like folk can hear
- does not have many opinions or dislikes apart from being called marie
- key braids their hair themself, bc they associate braids with nostalgia
- key first met rim twelve years ago, when they were five; rim was curious abt the state of their temple and found the spirit child who had only their name to remember. rim periodically visits key in the present, being that theyve both become family to one another. rim is p much like an older brother who lives far away but misses his sibling n comes back to his shitty hometown for holidays but ONLY for his beloved sibling
- key has a debit card thats connected to rim's credit card and he sends $200 to them by the month bc one time he found key trying to steal from the gas station in spirit form lmao
- key spends equal times in spirit and corporeal forms, bc they realize they cant do everything in one form (that they want to do), like sitting through the wall or eating jello
- key finally calls rim but they just want to buy some jello from rim's amazon acc
