Muriel

To the casual observer, Muriel is very unaffected by the things going on around her. She does not appear very emotional at all, rather keeping a cool mask on. She does experience emotions, but they do not show on her face like others would. When she does display her emotions, it's a sign that something is definitely out of the ordinary. Also, she simply doesn’t like the vulnerability of people knowing how she’s feeling.

Muriel is extremely stubborn. When she makes a decision, it takes a lot to get her to change her mind. It gets worse if people insist on pushing a decision on her that she doesn’t want. To be honest, Muriel is a bit of a contrarian. She doesn’t like it when people tell her what to do.

Muriel is extremely good at coming up with new ideas. She asks lots of questions about the way the world works and uses the answers she gets to create brand new ideas. Of course, Muriel isn’t usually the one to do things with these ideas. She prefers to share them with others instead.

Although Muriel may seem cool and unaffected, she cares deeply for the people around her. Much of her wealth goes to helping those in need because she can’t stand it when people suffer. Some accuse her of doing it all for media attention, but she’s genuinely doing it out of the goodness of her heart. There’s no ulterior motive at all.

Muriel is extremely affectionate to those she loves. Although she doesn’t do so in public, she’s extremely cuddly and craves attention almost constantly. If Muriel doesn’t interact with people for a while, her mental and physical health suffers more than most. Fortunately, she makes an engaging conversation partner so she’s rarely alone for that long.

Muriel was born to a panthera father and a ringox mother. Her father was the newest in a long line of heirs to the Kaildryn fortune, a fortune made from a massive and well known movie studio (akin to humanity’s Disney). He was a bit of a wild child, and as a young adult ran off to who knows where and met a ringox, with whom he had a bit of a fling with.

Of course, he didn’t expect there to be a baby - panthera are not well known for their ability to reproduce with other species. However, when Muriel’s mother confessed that she was pregnant, he did his best to set up his little family. They even found a third partner who loved them and completed the nuclear panthera family.

Muriel was a spoiled child from the get go. Her mere existence was considered a gift from the Celestials, which led to basically everyone giving her way too much attention. Muriel enjoyed it, of course, she just wished that people would notice her as a person.

Her father tried to push her into the film industry, but she refused. She decided instead to devote her life and money to philanthropy instead. Since Muriel was legally guaranteed lots of money as the heiress to the Kaildryn fortune, she was able to do whatever she liked.

WAt the age of 22, she somehow stumbled across one of the other panthera hybrids, an auracorn/panthera hybrid named Eleanor. Although Muriel was a bit intimidated by her height, she could tell the 19 year old Eleanor had no idea what to do with her life considering her status as a hybrid. So, she helped Eleanor figure herself out, up to and including Eleanor’s gender fluidity.

SThey were friends for quite a while until the only other hybrid (named Eida) brought the three of them together to be a true happy family. The three of them have adopted many orphan panthera children and are quite happy together.
