Profile

Emmerich's always been a follower, never much of a leader. It's just...not in his nature to take the lead, or to really give a damn about much. Truth be told, he has mild depression and simply goes day by day going through the motions. Part of these motions includes work, where he works for a crime boss as some hired muscle. He gets the job done, doesn't beat around the bush with anything, and continues trudging on. This all goes juuuuust fine until his boss sends him after some vigilante they've got a grudge against. He doesn't really realize who he's been sent after, and while he manages a couple good hits, he gets his ass soundly handed to him. When he wakes up, though, he finds out that he's apparently one of the first people in a long while to manage to inflict so much damage...and he's cute or something...and long story short, they're married now? Turns out it's a lot easier to defend a home than it is to actually have to put in all the footwork, and he's getting some encouragement to branch out a bit, so Emmerich's settling into married life well enough.

He isn't aware of it, since his father ran off and his mother just didn't acknowledge him much, but Emmerich's half demon. He's bound by his interpretation of promises he makes, and as such is always held to his word. Breaking promises can have horrible effects on his health, ranging from simply weakening him for a time, to nearly killing him outright. He inherited a more durable and more powerful body than the typical human, and has very mild telekinetic ability. Nothing so fancy as, say, throwing cars...but it's enough for him to accidentally open a window latch, unlock a door, or pull his bat just within reach during a tight spot. He and everyone else just think he's very lucky about finding unlocked entry points.

Fun Facts:
-Emmerich used to be a smoker, but quit. He replaced cigarettes with suckers and lollipops, he particularly likes the ones with wooden or plastic sticks, since they last longer for fidgeting and the like.
-He actually knows how to fight in other ways, but he prefers the simplicity and feeling of swinging a bat or similar blunt objects.
-He really hates shrimp. A lot.
-His eyes take on a barely noticeable glow when he's feeling any sort of strong way about something.
