Rife Motnus is a seventeen year old cleric of Beshaba, the goddess of bad luck and misfortune. She adores Beshaba, but worship of an evil god is considered illegal in her home city of Angarna, so she masquerades as a cleric of Tymora, the goddess of good luck, instead. She lives with her Uncle Claudius, who runs a casino known at The Stag. The two of them both worship Beshaba in secret, and despite her sunny and outgoing nature, Rife would do anything for her god. She's slow to trust and even slower to share secrets, and will do anything she thinks she has to to keep her and her family safe.
