Antheros

A somewhat incomprehensible being in form. To see his true form is to be lost to madness, and an eternal nightmare never to awaken. He is a trickster and a shapeshifter, taking many forms to blend in with mortals and persuade them to do his bidding. Those who worship him are either assassins, tricksters, or beings who dabble in dark magics.

Antheros is known as The Devourer of Suns and The Prince of Darkness. A god who's sole existence is to cull weaker gods and prevent a power imbalance. However eventually this got to his head and he succumbed to the very madness he caused, devouring a god of the sun and earning him one of his titles. This continued and he grew far more ambitious, hunting his fellow gods for amusement and sport, casting multiple planes into permanent darkness and dooming the mortals who lived in them. He was eventually far too strong for just one god to properly handle, and many joined their powers together with the oldest of them to seal him away for going out of line and endangering the ones who were significant to the planes.

For a time it worked, he was cast away into a deep slumber, seemingly never to awaken. However when the old gods started to vanish, their seals grew weak until something awoke him.

For now he bides his time, regaining his lost power.
