Design Notes

  • She wears small round glasses as she has horrible eye sight when reading things too close to her
  • Her mask is fairly simple in design, but it makes it easier to do her job with.
  • She wouldn't be caught dead without some small accessory or make up on. Nothing too over the top, usually just some earrings or a necklace, in addition to some lipstick.
Personality

The Archivist might appear to be a strong and independent thespian at first glance, but in reality she is terribly shy. Having spent most of her time alone inside the archives, she hasn't adjusted too well with interacting with others, and the few times she had a role to play on stage she would nearly panic if she had to be on stage for too long, but as any thespian, she played her role as best as she could. It did help that her role meant that she would only be a supporting character, one that rarely had any lines.

When she gets to know someone though, she does calm down, and can keep small conversations with them for a while before becoming too exhausted. She is always keen on hearing the latest gossip from the stage, often on instinct trying to write it down for the archive, which is a habit she has been trying to stop with little success.

She severly dislikes technology, though she cannot deny the ease that comes with using it for organising information. If she only could understand how it worked.

Trivia

  • She's often found trying to sort through scrolls and books of past plays and notes whenever their time is played out on the stage.
  • When she's visiting the other remnants, she's usually drawn towards their libraries. As such, she gets along well with the various shop keepers selling books.
  • She isn't too fond of this newest remnant, being all the way into the unknown space with their weird technology for storing stories. She does give it a try, but she can never really see the difference between turning on or deleting the stories on the holo-books.
  • She and her role may or may not have been influenced by getting caught up on the podcast The Magnus Archives ">->

History

When The Archivist was younger, she would often keep every letter her parents would recieve, trying to sort them into her own personal library of the stories they could become part of. Something about the words written down fascinated her, wanted her to treasure it and keep it away from being destroyed, unable to be read ever again. She just couldn't understand why anyone would want to throw away these small crumbs of life. However, as her collection habit got noticed by her parents and the Narrator, the role of The Archivist was assigned to her, forcing her to spend more and more time deep underground with countless scrolls and long played out manuscripts from plays of past. She rarely got any roles that would bring her up on the front stage, though she much more prefered reading the plays of old instead.

During the time up until the Narrator fell, much correspondence and diaries of thespians would fall into her hands, the words written having been decided to be stored away from prying eyes that might be stirred to unwanted emotions if they were to find them. After the Shadow Stage was freed, she reorganized these claimed materials into its own system, one that would allow the thespians wanting to find the messages meant for their eyes only could once again find their way to the owners.

As well as opening up the archives of personal mementoes, the stories of the plays and roles of past that had been hidden away could be accessed by whomever wanted to read it. And with travels to Hope now accessable, she has begun collecting the stories from this strange realm with no roles to fill the shelves in the archive as well. Though most of her time is still spent deep within the archives, she can be found wandering around on the campus of Hope.

The Scribe | Acquaintance

Archivist is unsure whether their relationship is that of acquaintances, friends, or coworkers, but she wants to make sure Scribe can do the best she can do. Knowing how busy Scribe is, Archivist wants to help by procuring research material or caffeine (though she worries about Scribe's consumption rate), though she's uncertain if the assistance she can provide is within the acceptable range of their "relationship", whatever it may be.
