Weather Magic
Elio’s magic is heavily dependant on the day’s weather. His wand (the umbrella he brings everywhere) allows him to channel his magic, which is dependent on nature and the skies. Several examples:
- Sunny day ➤ Spells that generate warmth/heat/light
- Windy day ➤ Spells that are reliant on air/wind force
- Rainy day ➤ Spells that make use of water/moisture
- Stormy day ➤ Spells that require sound (thunderstorms) or electricity (lightning)
Personality
Carefree / Open-minded / Breezy / Mellow / Aimless / Elusive / Passive
A carefree individual with his head always in the clouds, Elio’s presence feels as fleeting as a cool breeze on a bright summer’s day. The carefree attitude he holds is almost uncharacteristic for a man his age - while other people have their life plans sorted out and paths decided, Elio could be described as a wandering vagabond, still aimlessly exploring what he wants in life.
With how he’s used to nature’s surprises and the fact that he’s seen little of the world, Elio is an open-minded person, who is keen to at least learn a bit about anything and everything, before he considers forming an opinion (if he ever does). He could be accepting to a fault, often giving people the feeling of an elusive person who just passively takes in and agrees to anything that’s been shoved at him.
History
Brought up by an old couple who ran a cosy little inn by a small forest, Elio has spent most of his life being close to nature. As a kid, his favourite past times were to explore and discover scenic spots in the woods, climbing up the trees, spotting animals and dipping his feet into the lake as the warm, summer sun shone on him. He loved how beautiful nature was, and the many facets it could show as the seasons changed. Life like this was so calm, so peaceful, so lovely... he never wanted it to change. And so, this too, was how he spent his teenage years.
Reality dragged him out of his trance soon enough, when the boy graduated high school. The couple that raised Elio wanted to attend college, but to do so, he had to leave the town. Albeit a bit reluctant, he left to pursue further education with an oversized backpack and his favourite umbrella.
Being far away from the city’s hustle and bustle meant that the young man was not accustomed to the modern life. Ringtones of phones, the rumbling of engines… everything only served to unsettle him, on top of what he finally identified as academic pressure. It was easy to conclude that he did not fit in, and was better living in close proximity of the soothing calmness of serene woods that he had spent most of his life in.
It was a typical cloudy day out when Elio discovered that he had some sort of magical ability. A few, fluffy clouds appeared at the ceiling of his flat, leaving the young man clutching his umbrella dumbfounded. A mysterious person appeared at his door a few days later, explaining the curious phenomenon that had taken place, along with some information about a magical school.
His mind was decided - after a quick call with home, he decided to apply for Saint Spell. Elio had forgotten the exact location of the school but recalled how the person described the flora and fauna there. It was a perfect solution! He could obtain “further” education, while alongside nature as well! Of course, he was also keen on learning how to harness this new found power of his - it was a bit of a chore to clean up the aftermath of his his tiny tuffs of clouds, and he’d rather not have that happen again.
