As sweet and charismatic as she is clever and meddlesome - which is to say, very much so - Leiko is, in a word, trouble. Though often generous and caring, she has a mean streak a mile wide and a gaggle of other terribly personality traits that make it difficult to like her no matter just how loving she might be. Of course, very few people ever come to experience the sour core beneath the sugary exterior, for she is a near master of manipulation and deception. It isn't to say that all of her love and care is ingenuine, however - just that, as charming as she can be, she also kind of sucks. A lot.

Born to a family of shrine keepers cursed with guarding an ancient artifact known as the Red Star, Leiko lived her childhood without much to her name, raised by her (slightly) older sister, Reiko. While poverty made her magnanimous, it also left her with a sense of constant wanting; a desire for more, more, more. Everything she came to love, she loved in excess, and excess itself was something she came to value dearly, desiring it above all else, as in her mind, excess and fulfillment became the same thing.

Though she tried to make peace with her spot in life for most of her years, the year following her 26th birthday proved to be full of strife. Her childhood best friend abruptly passed away, and her own health declined as she began to show signs of a strange and supernatural illness that ran within her bloodline. Feeling cornered, Leiko turned her gaze to the one thing she saw at her disposal that could change everything - the Red Star. Though she had known that it had brutally killed the first to try to harness its power, Leiko was determined... and it was through that determination alone that she would change the very course of fate, no matter the consequences.

With the power of the Red Star within her, Leiko has ascended far past her previous status of witch to being something of a god - or, perhaps just a very, very, very powerful witch. With a tendency to use said power for whatsoever she pleases, her extreme magical capabilities paired with her newfound physical strength and fortitude - as well as with her questionable sense of morality and tendency to play herself off as far weaker than she is - makes her an extremely dangerous individual, full of endless potential for both good and bad.
