BIRTH –

The status of her biological parents is unknown. Orphaned at infancy, Lorelei was raised as a ward of the Grand City until she was adopted by a commanding officer of the royal guard.

EARLY LIFE –

Lorelei received her education from under the jurisdiction of the high elves, and thus was trained in aristocratic society with having lived in the capitol city. Despite her woodland heritage, she was not permitted to study nor practice woodland culture. In her academic studies, she showed great promise, and had the aptitude of a scholar. Despite the encouragement of her teachers and peers to pursue this field of profession, however, Lorelei wanted naught to do with books or scrolls. Instead, she longed for the taste of blood, the burning cut of steel, and the rush of adrenaline on a battlefield. Watching the soldiers under her father’s command day and night filled her with a sense of purpose to achieve that which was greater than herself. She ached of heroism. But her superiors refused to hear her “trivial delusions of grandeur” and restricted her access to watching the soldiers, hoping to be done with her dreams of knighthood. If anything, it only made her grow more passionate.

ADULTHOOD –

On her 17th birthday, Lorelei was given the legal right to follow her own path, and she didn’t hesitate to enroll as a trainee for the royal guard. With no prior training experience, however, it’s safe to say that the young elf got knocked down quite often, but it did not cripple the ferocity of her determination. Eventually, she managed to succeed through each rigorous course, and was granted her wish of being accepted into the guard as a squire. At 18, she personally met the king – an honor that very few soldiers, much less apprenticed soldiers received – and informed him of her unyielding will to become an esteemed knight and serve the kingdom for the good of all of its people. Amused and delighted at the girl’s young spirit, he told her that he would look forward to seeing her leading the royal forces to victory one day. Little did she know that he was going to start keeping a much closer eye on her than she would have thought. Two years later, a graduation ceremony was held for each of the apprentices, and Lorelei was placed within the king's personal guard. It was among the highest privileges a knight of the Grand Army could receive. She served as each king's bodyguard for the generations to come, until she fell in love with her latest charge and witnessed the horrible deaths of him and his family at the hands of their political enemies. She'd only barely managed to escape with her life.

CURRENT LIFE –

With over four hundred years having passed after the end of the Grand Dynasty, Lorelei is now just a regular bodyguard for hire, searching for another purpose. She knows no boundaries when she wanders, though tends to spend most of her time in the Grand Forests, after having the freedom to take up the study of her heritage and dwell among her people.
