- His eyes and yellow spots can glow on command.
Natural Abilities
- Aquatic Respiration: Kaerio had the ability to breathe underwater due to the gills he possessed. His webbed talons, sail, and powerful tail made him an especially good swimmer. However, he could not dive too deep, and usually stuck to coral reefs and other shallow areas of the ocean while underwater.
- Aquatic Vision: Kaerio had an extra transparent set of eyelids that he shut while swimming, providing him specialized vision while underwater. Unlike SeaWings, he did not have the ability to see well in the dark.
- Echolocation: In addition to his specialized aquatic vision, Kaerio could use echolocation to find his way while underwater. He often used this ability while swimming at night or in dark, unlit areas due to his lack of night vision, and was additionally able to use it in conjunction with Whistle/Signal to communicate over long distances underwater.
- Animus Magic: Although some who believe in his legend disagree, it is widely accepted that Kaerio likely possessed animus magic while he was alive, which allowed him to enchant inanimate objects, plants, animals, and other dragons to do whatever he pleased. He could cast this magic through spoken words, thoughts, writing, and Whistle/Signal. Some who believe he was an animus think it was a spell of his own that caused the tribe to lose their wings, while others claim he lost them as punishment for misuse of his magic.
