Nier is a Duskwight Elezen from a tribe deep in the snowy North Dravanian forests. Around the turn of the Seventh Umbral Era, the fluctuating aether levels spread an aetheric sickness that wiped out the vast majority of her home, and left those who survived twisted far from their prior selves. Living in the town where memories of those lost plagued her every second became too much for her, so she left, picking up a nomadic adventuring lifestyle to try and find a home that would let her live in peace and move past her grief.

She and her entire family have a higher than average concentration of dragon blood in their veins, which was the cause of their self-imposed isolation in the bitter wilderness. They live particularly long, possess some draconic features, and tend to be much larger than your average elezen. From her position as someone who is going to see centuries of life, it was initially difficult for her to perceive regular people as anything but children, but as she spent more time among them she's grown to appreciate the individuality every single person has regardless of their lifespan.

She is very extroverted and almost compulsively tries to help people out. If you're standing somewhere looking confused and she spots you, there is a 70% chance that you will end up getting adopted into her fold. Nier is motherly to all and finds comfort in taking care of people. She can be slightly arrogant and tends to gloss over heavier subjects at best (or ignore them altogether).
